Garden City (N.Y.) and Darien (Conn.) are about as good as it gets in girls' lacrosse in the Northeast Region. They go to battle on Saturday at 3 p.m. Eastern.

The Blue Wave will host this marquee matchup — our USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Game of the Week.

The season is young for both teams, with the Northeast only just wrapping up its second week of spring activity. So while it might be too early to predict end-of-season placement, its perfectly fair to be hyped for this contest based on individual talents alone.

Five-star midfielder Anna von Kennel (Florida) highlights the host Blue Wave, though she has plenty of help on a deep Darien roster coached by USA Lacrosse Hall of Famer Lisa Lindley. Four-star prospects Annabell Adams (attack, Virginia), Summer Glenday (defense, USC) and Hope Hapgood (midfield, Dartmouth) give Garden City plenty to think about.

Norwestern-bound five-star attacker Kyle Finnell headlines Garden City. Could she be the next Izzy Scane? You never know.

Finnell has plenty of help around her. The Garden City recruiting page is the who's who of major lacrosse schools — Notre Dame, Virginia, Cornell, etc.
