New No. 1 in USA Lacrosse High School Girls' National Top 25
The USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 already has a new No. 1.
Episcopal Academy (Pa.) edged McDonogh (Md.) with seconds to go last week, altering the top of the rankings and the top 10 at large.
Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.), which survived a tough challenge from up-and-coming American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), bumps up to No. 1 followed by a St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) team that starts play this week.
Episcopal and McDonogh take the next two spots, with Connecticut powers New Canaan and Darien set to open their seasons. St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.) and Stone Ridge (Md.) continue to impress right on their heels. The remainder of the rankings has only a few changes. Sacred Heart (Conn.) slides to 16 after opening with a loss.
Highly regarded Massapequa (N.Y.) fills the final spot this week. Like much of the Northeast, they are just beginning to play games.
More movement could be ahead with big matchups like Darien vs. St. Paul’s (Md.) on the docket in an otherwise light holiday week of games.
