St. Anthony's Leads Nike/USAL High School Boys Top 25 as Two Teams Enter Mix

St. Anthony’s has carved out its spot atop the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 by taking on all challengers. The Friars face another talented team this week when Haverford (Pa.) hosts them May 6.

Only two new teams entered the rankings, but one is a significant addition. No. 2 Lawrenceville (N.J.) is a name with which plenty nationally are familiar. The school, which allows post-graduates in other sports, is not using them in boys’ lacrosse under third-year coach Jon Posner, and that makes them eligible for our rankings.

Darien (Conn.) is the other team moving into the Top 25 after a loss by Archbishop Stepanic (N.Y.) created an opportunity.

A Boys’ Latin (Md.) win over Loyola-Blakefield (Md.) created a triangle of results between the two schools and McDonogh (Md.) that will likely only be settled in the MIAA A Conference playoffs. There’s also crossover with Haverford beating Loyola-Blakefield but McDonogh handily beating the Fords.

The playoffs are already underway in some regions, and that gives every team the chance to move. Continue below to see the Nike/USA Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 for this week. All results are through Sunday, April 30.
