Calvert Hall (Md.) grabs the headline for the second week in a row.

The Cardinals climb this week’s USA Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25 after handing No. 1-ranked Malvern Prep (Pa.) its first loss. Jackson Mitchell scored the game-winner in overtime — Calvert Hall's third OT win of the season — to propel the Cardinals to the No. 2 spot behind St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), which opened its year with a reaffirming win over No. 6 Culver Academy (Ind.).

Another high riser is Delbarton (N.J.). The Green Wave make a splash at No. 10 after getting the Garden State started off right with a win over Haverford School (Pa.).

It was a big week for Florida schools, which made the most of their cross-region matchups against top teams. Benjamin (Fla.) had a seismic win over a McDonogh (Md.) team that is highly regarded (preseason No. 1) yet trying to get healthy. IMG Academy (Fla.) edged Deerfield (Mass.) to slide into the Top 25 at No. 24. The Ascenders are unbeaten through five games.

Landon (Md.) moves up four spots, benefitting from the Benjamin effect. The Bears defeated the South Region’s top school handily after its win over McDonogh.
