Duke’s Charlotte North, profiled by US Lacrosse Magazine last spring for her exploits as a freshman who earned the last spot in her recruiting class, has shown no signs of a sophomore slump. In fact, the Texas native is only getting better.

North scored seven goals, including the game-tying and winning tallies, in an 11-10 double-overtime triumph at Louisville on Sunday, as the Blue Devils sidestepped the upset and improved to 6-1 on the season. North is the Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Duke trailed 10-9 going into the final minute. North tied it with 59 seconds remaining, then won it on a putback with 1:38 left in the second overtime.

The Brine/US Lacrosse Player of the Week, selected by the US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, recognizes the top performers in Division I women’s lacrosse throughout the season.
