Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:

1. Regy Thorpe, head coach of the U.S. men's indoor team and a name highly regarded in the box lacrosse community, yesterday was announced by US Lacrosse as a speaker at its annual convention. He'll give a presentation on the box game at LaxCon Jan. 19-21 in Baltimore.

Thorpe coached Team USA in the Heritage Cup last month and will lead the team to the 2019 FIL World Indoor Championships. After an All-American and national championship playing career at Syracuse, he played for the Rochester Knighthawks for 15 years and won two NLL titles in that span. He also played for the Rochester Rattlers in the MLL and has had a successful box coaching career.

Thorpe has been an assistant coach with his alma mater's women's program alongside Gary Gait since 2010, and at least one former Orange player was pretty fired up about the news that Thorpe had joined the LaxCon speaker lineup.

Tickets for LaxCon are on sale at early-bird prices until Nov. 30.

2. The Loyola men's team wrapped up fall ball recently with its Green-Grey scrimmage, this time back on campus at Diane Geppi-Aikens Field. Geoff Shannon of Inside Lacrosse offered some of his memories of the Greyhounds' former home, which they vacated in 2010 for the sparkling Ridley Athletic Complex a couple miles west of campus.

Originally Curley Field, the university renamed it after its Hall of Fame women's coach that passed away in 2003. Many times, writers were stashed under a tent on a concrete platform in a corner of one endzone. The grandstand along that sideline was far enough away from the field boundary, but views of play at the opposite end still proved challenging at times.

3. Allegheny College in northwestern Pennsylvania has announced it will field a varsity men's lacrosse team beginning in the 2019-20 academic year, as reported by the Meadville Tribune. The school's board of trustees also authorized facility upgrades to accommodate the new program and a new field hockey team.

The Gators compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference, in which all 10 members will now sponsor men's lacrosse.

Can he be stopped?

Team USA's Paul Rabil recently was inducted into the hall of fame of his alma mater, DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md. Here's his speech.

In this case, listening to. Sean DeLaney of Philadelphia's reincarnated NLL franchise has long hosted a podcast, and yesterday he released an interview with National Lacrosse Hall of Famer Casey Powell.

And the best for last. Congratulations to our fearless editor in chief, Matt, and wife, Erin, on the birth this week of son number two, Reid. Rumor has it his first bedtime story was the sports section of the Associated Press style guide.
