Good morning. Here’s the latest from around the lacrosse world:
1. The USA Blue-White scrimmage lived up to the hype and then some.
The event Wednesday at the USA Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md., was live streamed on ScoreBreak and open to the public. Many of the capacity 500 crowd in attendance started chanting Charlotte North’s name as the Boston College star and Tewaaraton Award winner reeled off six goals in the second quarter to give the White team a 10-7 advantage entering the break.
Yet, the Blue team prevailed 13-12 after tightening things up defensively. Izzy Scane led the way for the winning side with a hat trick, along with one assist, and seven different players scored. Boston College’s former “Big Three” of Sam Apuzzo, Dempsey Arsenault and Kenzie Kent accounted for five goals.

2. Liz Hogan adheres to the adage it’s the wizard, not the wand, especially when talking about Charlotte North.
Hogan has hand, or literally two, however, in North’s unprecedented success and electrifying play. Since her freshman year of college, North has trusted only Hogan to string her sticks.

3. Allison Daley joined Louisville as an assistant coach this week. Daley had resigned from Canisius, her alma mater, earlier this month after four seasons as head coach. She played and served as an assistant coach for Louisville head coach Scott Teeter at Canisius, while also serving as his associate head coach of the Canadian U-19 team that won silver at the 2019 FIL U-19 Women's Field Lacrosse World Championships.
4. After the reported haul Maryland got in the transfer portal earlier this week, the Terrapins added another transfer yesterday. Owen Murphy added his name to the list of players who will transition to College Park for the 2022 season. The move all the more noteworthy because the attackman previously attended Johns Hopkins, and started three of six games for the Blue Jays in 2020.

WHAT WE’RE WATCHING
North would have had an even more prolific evening were it not for Caylee Waters.
The two-time national goalie of the year at North Carolina made nine saves in the first half, including a spectacular off-stick-side low stop on an 8-meter attempt from North. Fellow Tar Heel and 2021 Tewaaraton Award finalist Taylor Moreno made four saves and only allowed two goals in the second half to seal the Blue team’s win.
