Best of Lacrosse 2023: Vote for Best Women's Highlight

December 12, 2023
Kenny DeJohn

Welcome to #BestOfLacrosse2023. Help us celebrate the past year of lacrosse by voting in 15 polls over 15 weekdays in December, beginning Monday, Dec. 4. All voting will be conducted on X (@usalacrossemag), and fans will have 24 hours to make their selections.

For more information — including upcoming categories, rules and more — check out our introductory post to #BestOfLacrosse2023.

We’ve come to two of our in-house favorite categories — Best Highlight of 2023.

We start Tuesday with the best women’s highlight before shifting attention to the best men’s highlight on Wednesday. Why do we love these categories so much? It’s because they take us back to the spring. These were the highlights that defined the year, and they bring us back.

Plus, these highlights absolutely wowwed us — for obvious reasons.

Here are the nominees for Best Women’s Highlight.

BEST WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHT

ERIN COYKENDALL

Erin Coykendall proved in 2023 that she is a human highlight reel. Crafty with her stick, defenders can’t take their eyes off the Tewaaraton finalist. The highlight that earned her a nomination? This viciously insane BTB.

SHEA DOLCE

Shea Dolce was a freshman star in the cage for Boston College, helping the Eagles reach yet another NCAA championship game. Among her top highlights was this sequence in which she stopped two point-blank shots in one possession.

MAEVE TOBIN

We still have no idea what to call this one. A no-look, over-the-head, one-timer bounce shot? You let us know what to call this wizardry from Maeve Tobin.

TRINITY MCPHERSON

There are few things that awe us more than pure speed. Trinity McPherson has that in spades. McPherson went coast to coast for Denver in the NCAA semis against Northwestern, fueling a goal on the other end. The best news? McPherson is back at Denver to give us more highlights in 2024.
