In Division I, Fairfield’s incredible start has earned the Stags the moniker of America’s Team. In Division II, we have Flagler.

The Saints improved to 9-1 last week, handing Palm Beach Atlantic its first loss of the year before taking down Lynn on Sunday. Trace McDonald has emerged as one of the top offensive weapons in the Peach Belt Conference, with 40 points through 10 games after producing six against Lynn.

On the other side of the peninsula, Rollins is having a March so bad it would make Julius Caesar jealous. The Tars have now lost four in a row. They lost at home to Flagler and Adelphi and were upset by Concordia-Irvine on a trip west. This weekend, they fell to Maryville.

The SSC is, as always, a bear. Tampa has the look of a title contender, but up and down the table, there are no easy outs. Embry-Riddle scored a big win over Newberry, and Lynn has been a surprise riser in the conference despite its lightning-delayed loss to Flagler.

Saint Leo is now 6-1 after beating Maryville and continues its rise up the Top 20 after a short blip. Its only loss at this point is a one-goal defeat against — you guessed it — Flagler. The next week is a pivotal one, as Saint Leo will host Colorado Mesa and Florida Southern. Those aren’t just trap games; they’re full-on season-changers if they go poorly.

Last year’s Division II semifinalist, Saint Anselm, has claimed its third win in a row against a Top 20 team thanks to an 18-14 victory over Mercy. The Hawks have started later than most squads, as the New Hampshire geography is unkind to all lacrosse teams, but they are making the most of their potential under new head coach Drew Boudreau. Boudreau might be new to college coaching, but he has maintained the winning ways at his alma mater.

Limestone’s 16-6 throttling of Lenoir-Rhyne pushes the Bears even farther down after their loss to Anderson last week. The Saints are still lurking, though, behind the nation’s top two teams — Adelphi and Tampa — both of whom remain undefeated.

Last year’s surprise team was Lewis, and this season, the Flyers have spent the majority of their time trying to crack the top 10. Last week, they were ranked No. 9. This week they moved up to the eighth slot thanks to a raucous 20-6 win against Davenport. It was the team’s sixth win in a row after a loss to Limestone the second week of February. The Flyers’ toughest game is in two weeks when they face Seton Hill at home.
