Hyde, Seay, DeMallie are USA Lacrosse Men's Players of the Week

This season, USA Lacrosse will celebrate the accomplishments of players across Divisions I, II and III each Tuesday with Player of the Week recognition. Players of the Week are selected by USA Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors based on a variety of factors, including individual performance and impact on team success.

DIVISION I

JORDAN HYDE, UTAH

What a week for Jordan Hyde, who totalled 14 goals and two assists over two Utah wins. His biggest performance came against Mercer, a game in which he produced a school-record eight goals and one assist — tying him for second in program history for single-game points. Hyde, from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, has 43 goals this season. All four of his assists have come in the last four games. With Utah needing to get hot late in the season, Hyde has been at the center of it.

DIVISION II

RILEY SEAY, LENOIR-RHYNE

Drilling an overtime game-winner is a great way to be named player of the week. But it was more than just the deciding goal that stood out. Seay was a factor all day, scoring a hat trick in Lenoir-Rhyne’s massive win over Limestone. He also finished with a couple of ground balls and a caused turnover. Both of his other goals were critical in keeping Lenoir-Rhyne in the lead. He also had a goal and an assist in Lenoir-Rhyne’s midweek dominance of Anderson. Timely scoring, none more timely than the winner, was the story of the victory for Riley Seay.

DIVISION III

COOPER DEMALLIE, MIDDLEBURY

It was DeMallie’s six goals that ultimately provided the separation that Middlebury needed to beat Babson on Sunday. It was Middlebury’s third game in five days. Players were clearly exhausted after the back-to-back weekend and the Panthers needed someone to step up. That someone was DeMallie, who now has 26 points as part of the masterful midfield of the Midds.
