ATLANTA — For the fourth time in as many weeks, there is a new No. 1 in the MCLA Division I New Balance Coaches Poll, and this time it’s Brigham Young’s turn to sit atop the poll.

The Cougars (6-0) ascend to the top spot after subduing No. 8 Liberty (7-3) and No. 19 Florida (5-5) in Jacksonville. BYU has close company, however, as No. 2 Utah Valley (6-0) is just three points behind their Beehive State brethren. The Cougars and Wolverines each grabbed 13 first-place votes.

Texas (9-0), which owns the remaining top vote, sat tight at No. 3. The Longhorns are prepping for a big showdown with No. 15 Oregon (6-0) in Austin this Saturday.

Virginia Tech (8-1) held onto its No. 4 position after an idle two weeks, but the Hokies are upwardly mobile. They host No. 5 Chapman (7-1) on Thursday before entertaining Utah Valley on Saturday in Blacksburg.

There were no new additions to the poll this week.
