We’ve come to two of our in-house favorite categories — Best Highlight of 2023.
We end Wednesday with the best men’s highlight after crowning a women’s highlight champion on Tuesday. Why do we love these categories so much? It’s because they take us back to the spring. These were the highlights that defined the year, and they bring us back.
Plus, these highlights absolutely wowwed us — for obvious reasons.
Here are the nominees for Best Men’s Highlight.
These highlights absolutely wowwed us — and we're still searching for the words to describe them.

BEST MEN'S HIGHLIGHT
ANDERSON MOORE
If you’ve yet to familiarize yourself with Anderson Moore, that will soon change. The future Georgetown goalie played his senior season at Briarwood Christian (Ala.) and produced this insane highlight during the boys’ 2023 Adrenaline All-American game.
BRIAN RUPPEL
We still don’t have words for this sequence. The mounting pressure. The opponent. The stakes! Oh, and Ruppel started the spring as the backup. Just watch.
JOEY SPALLINA
It simply did not take long for folks to realize exactly why Joey Spallina was as hyped as he was. Exhibit A.
JAKE TAYLOR
Jake Taylor has unfortunately struggled through injuries while at Notre Dame. But the man is a weapon when he takes the field. This goal prolonged the Irish season that ultimately led to a national championship.
Kenny DeJohn
Kenny DeJohn has been the Digital Content Editor at USA Lacrosse since 2019. First introduced to lacrosse in 2016 as a Newsday Sports reporter on Long Island (yes, ON Long Island), DeJohn specializes in women's game coverage. His search for New York quality pizza in Baltimore is ongoing.
