The Women’s Professional Lacrosse League announced Wednesday the 37 players who will participate in the league’s first showcase game Sept. 30 at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. The game will be broadcast live on Lax Sports Network.
“We are extremely excited to offer a first look at the WPLL to the Maryland community,” commissioner Jen Adams said in a press release. “Maryland has long been a lacrosse hotbed, and we invite all lacrosse fans to help us celebrate the beginning of a new era in women’s lacrosse.”
The exhibition — which takes place the same day that the United Women’s Lacrosse League is conducting its supplemental draft — includes a mix of players from all five WPLL teams. It is open to the public and free of charge.
