Defending NCAA champion Yale is the top-ranked team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Men’s Preseason Top 20, as published in the January edition of US Lacrosse Magazine.

Despite graduating a transformative senior class that included Tewaaraton Award winner Ben Reeves and five other players drafted by Major League Lacrosse teams, the Bulldogs reloaded, most notably landing All-American faceoff ace TD Ierlan as a transfer from Albany.

Duke, which lost to Yale in the 2018 NCAA championship game, starts 2019 in the No. 2 spot. Maryland, which has advanced to the final four in seven of the last eight seasons, is No. 3. Cornell and Virginia, both coming off big-time bounce-back campaigns, round out the top five.

Rankings are compiled by US Lacrosse Magazine staff and contributors, with input from college coaches. The full list of teams appears below.
