The Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) is pleased to announce the schedule for our inaugural season in Summer 2018. The 13-game schedule will include 10 regular season games, two semi-final games, and a championship game. Each team will play at least one game in their home market, and a late June New England Command game in the Boston area will be announced soon.
“We’re thrilled to release our schedule for the inaugural season of the WPLL. Fans can now lock in an opportunity to see the best professional women’s lacrosse players and teams in an exciting, entertaining, and accessible atmosphere. Our league is dedicated to engaging and developing premier players and people, as well as the next generation of aspiring pros! We hope you’ll join us in watching the best in the game take the field this summer,” explains Jen Adams, Commissioner of the WPLL.
The season will kick off on June 2nd with a two-game opening weekend, a double header with the MLL’s Baltimore Bayhawks, and the first matchup between the New England Command and the New York Fight, in Good Counsel, Maryland. Other season highlights include the July 6th double header at the IL Committed Academy at Goucher College, and a double header on June 30th with the MLL’s New York Lizards.
The semi-final games will occur at the culmination of the WPLL Future’s Summit in West Chester, Pennsylvania on July 12th. The games will follow the WPLL’s first ever National Summit, a three-day event featuring the nation’s top players that is focused on lacrosse, character, and leadership.
The Championship game will be held in partnership with US Lacrosse on July 14th at their headquarters in Sparks, Maryland.
