SPARKS, Md. — The reigning world champion U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams will welcome the reigning NCAA Division I champions to US Lacrosse for the 2018 Team USA Fall Classic.

A blockbuster Saturday doubleheader will feature Team USA taking on Yale in men’s lacrosse and Team USA taking on James Madison in women’s lacrosse.

The games are scheduled October 6 at William G. Tierney Field at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md. Tickets are available online now with a $5 savings over the walk-up price. Proceeds benefit the U.S. National Teams Program.

“How often do you get to see two world championship and two NCAA championship teams compete at the same venue on the same day? It’s a pretty remarkable experience,” said Skip Lichtfuss, director of national teams for US Lacrosse. “We’re very excited to bring these four teams together in one setting.”

The U.S. Men’s Team, which defeated Canada this past July at the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) World Championship in Israel, will play Yale in the opening game on Saturday at 12 noon. Yale defeated Duke last May to win its first NCAA championship.

The U.S. Women’s Team, which won both the FIL World Cup in England and the International World Games Championship in Poland in 2017, will be making its debut under new head coach Jenny Levy.

Levy, the head coach at the University of North Carolina, was named to the U.S. team position last November. Her squad will meet up against James Madison at 3 p.m. JMU is also coming off of its first NCAA championship, having defeated Boston College in the NCAA title game last May.

The U.S. Women’s U19 Team, which was named earlier this month after tryouts at US Lacrosse, will also be participating over the weekend. More details on its schedule will be released in the near future.
