There will be a new champion in NCAA Division II women’s lacrosse after Adelphi rallied to beat defending champion LeMoyne 12-11 in double overtime in the East Region championship.

In a wild game that featured four separate five-goal runs, Adelphi struck last.

Training 11-7 with 13:15 left in the second half after LeMoyne’s Erin McMullen scored three straight goals to cap a five-goal spurt for the Dolphins, Adelphi responded.

Adelphi scored four straight, tying the game with just 32 seconds remaining in regulation on Chelsea Abreu’s goal.

LeMoyne goalie Hannah George and Adelphi goalie Emma Lemanski each turned away free position shots in the first six-minute overtime period, but in the second overtime period, Kole Pollock scored the game-winner with just 4.6 seconds on the clock to send the Panthers to the national semifinals.

McMullen led LeMoyne with four goals and Sydney Meagher had a goal and three assists.
