No. 20 Boston College extended its home winning streak at Newton Lacrosse Complex to 30 games with a dominant 20-10 win over Hofstra on Wednesday.

The Eagles stuffed the box score with six multi-goal efforts. Charlotte North notched a game-high eight points on three goals and five assists, and Jenn Medjid (five goals), Cassidy Weeks (four), Jordan Lappin (three), Cara Urbank (two) and Kate Taylor (two) helped carry the offense.

Rachel Hall, the goalie who transferred from Oregon, made 11 saves. North and Sheila Rietano each corralled eight draws for Boston College, which improved to 4-3.

A 13-5 lead gave Boston College breathing room at halftime, but Hofstra (4-3) opened the second half with consecutive scores to cut the deficit to 13-7. The Pride later came within five goals at 15-10, but Boston College ended on a 5-0 run.

Notre Dame Thumps Vanderbilt

No. 2 Notre Dame continued its undefeated start to the season by scoring the first 11 goals in a 16-6 win over host Vanderbilt. Nine scorers contributed to the 11-0 run.

Kasey Choma scored a game-high four goals, and Hannah Dorney (three goals, one assist) and Madison Ahern (two goals, two assists) also collected four points each. Notre Dame (7-0) won 17 of 24 draws.

Notre Dame plays its biggest test of 2020 on Sunday against top-ranked North Carolina in Chapel Hill.

The following Ivy League programs played their final games of the 2020 season with the news of the conference canceling all spring sports due to rising coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns.

  • Brown ended its season on a high note, topping Virginia Tech in a 13-11 win. Brown (4-3) led 8-4 at halftime. Risa Mosenthal scored five times, and Erin Tucker made 11 saves.

  • Columbia fell to 0-7 with a 14-7 loss to UConn in Storrs, Conn. Alexandria Absey and Rachel Graff each scored twice. Columbia, which recently named Taylor Pennell the interim head coach after Andrea Cofrin resigned on Monday, honored its seniors after the game.
