The Warrior/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys' lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Northeast

Logan Tobias, Commack (N.Y.)

Tobias won 18 of 21 faceoffs to help Commack dominate possession in a 9-8 upset win over Half Hollow Hills East (N.Y.). Tobias also scored a goal in the win. In controlling tempo and possession, Commack didn’t allow East to score a goal over the final 24 minutes of the game. Tobias is headed to the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.

Mid-Atlantic

Joe White, Collegiate (Va.)

White became the first player in Virginia history to reach 400 career points on May 2. He scored two goals and added two assists against Benedictine (Va.) to reach the milestone. The Penn State signee has 403 career points and has put the state's scoring lead well beyond the next player on the list. Dan Doty from Potomac School (Va.) scored 323 career points and was the state's all-time leader since 2000.

South

Owen Caputo, Middle Creek (N.C.)

The senior midfielder became North Carolina’s all-time leading scorer in Middle Creek’s 20-3 win over Athens Drive in the state playoffs. Caputo had six goals and three assists in the win, all in the first half. He tied the state record for points when he assisted his brother Jake and then set the record on an unassisted goal. Caputo has 80 goals and 45 assists this year. He had 480 career points.

Midwest

Graham Bundy Jr., MICDS (Mo.)

Bundy set MICDS’ single-season point record last week, reaching 99 points, and the season isn’t over yet. He had 27 of those points in three games last week, including a three-goal, three-assist effort in a win over Loyola in which he netted the game-winner in overtime. The junior is planning on attending Georgetown beginning in 2019.

Aidan Hesse, Loyola-Los Angeles (Calif.)

The senior middie won 13 of 14 faceoffs to set the tone for the Cubs en route to an 8-3 win over Agoura in the Southern Section Los Angeles/Ventura County semifinals on Saturday. Hesse also won 12 faceoffs in the first half of an 18-3 win over Westlake in the second round last week to fuel the offense.
