The Warrior/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys' lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Northeast

Mike Monitto, Half Hollow Hills East (N.Y.)

Monitto scored the overtime winner off a feed from Drew Martin to propel the Thunderbirds to an 11-10 win over Smithtown West (N.Y.) in the Suffolk Class A semifinals. Monitto finished with two goals. He now has 47 goals and 19 assists this season.

Mid-Atlantic

Canyon Birch, Manasquan (N.J.)

Birch broke the best-known New Jersey record for most points in a season after scoring 17 points in three games last week. Birch scored 11 points on Saturday to put his season total to 174, breaking Teddy Hatfield’s (Morristown-Beard) record of 170 set in 2014. The attackman scored six goals and had five assists in a 15-8 win over Madison in the South Jersey Group 1 title game.

Midwest

Graham Bundy Jr., MICDS (Mo.)

The junior attacker set an unofficial state record for points in a season at 141, helping MICDS to a state title. He scored three goals in last week’s state championship win over St. Louis University High (Mo.). Bundy also scored twice in a semifinal win over DeSmet Jesuit (Mo.). He is committed to play at Georgetown.

West

Cole Daninger, O’Dea (Wash.)

The senior midfielder led the Fighting Irish to the Washington Private School title Saturday, scoring four goals and adding two assists in a 14-10 win over Seattle Prep. O’Dea had lost both regular-season matchups against the Panthers. Daninger, a captain, also had three groundballs and finished the season with 38 goals and 17 assists.
