The Warrior/US Lacrosse Players of the Week are named each Tuesday to recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school boys' lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.
Northeast
Jack Billiter, McQuaid Jesuit (N.Y.)
The senior attackman totaled 13 goals and two assists in two games last week. He scored six goals in a loss to St. Joseph (N.Y.) and then had seven goals and two assists in a 15-3 win over Livonia-Avon. Billitier now has scored at least two goals in every game this season. He has 37 goals and seven assists in nine games.
Also notable: Jake Bonomi, St. Anthony’s (N.Y.); PJ Clementi, Harborfields (N.Y.)
— Will Cleveland
Mid-Atlantic
Daniel Kelly, Calvert Hall (Md.)
In what could have been a must-win for Calvert Hall last week, Kelly came up big. The attackman scored the first three goals of the game and finished with five in a 13-7 win over Severn (Md.). Severn was coming off a win over Boys’ Latin (Md.) and a Cardinal loss would have put them in a four-way tie in the conference. The top six teams get into the playoffs and the regular season ends next week.
Also notable: Liam Bateman, Loyola-Blakefield (Md.); John-Gage Collier, Annapolis Area Christian School (Md.); Luke Roselli, Upper Dublin (Pa.); Matt Campbell, Delbarton (N.J.)
— Mike Loveday
South
Justin Lugo, St. Andrew’s (Fla.)
The senior goalie was the standout in a defensive battle with previous No. 2 Oxbridge Academy (Fla.) last week in a Florida High School Athletic Association regional quarterfinal. Lugo had 16 saves, including 11 in the first half, to preserve a 6-5 win for the Scots. For the season, Lugo has 135 saves with just 72 goals allowed for a .652 save percentage.
Also notable: Graham Schwartz, Middle Creek (N.C.); Riley Seay, Oceanside Collegiate (S.C.); Jack Shipman, Wando (S.C.); Jake Kiefer, Bishop Moore (Fla.); Colton Rudd, South Forsyth (Ga.); Aidan Callahan, Green Hope (N.C.); Brooks Baro, McIntosh (Ga.).
