Ward Melville (N.Y.) had a wild week, but came out of it with a 3-0 record. The former No. 7 team in the rankings got three goals from Matt Grill and nine saves from Collin Krieg to beat Chaminade (N.Y.) 11-7. It also took down West Islip (N.Y.) 6-5 in overtime thanks to a game-winning goal from Zach Hobbes. As a result, Ward Melville moves up to No. 4 in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Boys' National Top 25.

Also notable, John Jay-Cross River vaulted all the way from unranked to No. 13 in this week's rankings. The Indians rebounded from a close loss to Manhasset (N.Y.) with a 7-6 win over rival Yorktown (N.Y.). Up next is Chaminade (N.Y.) on Tuesday.

1. Calvert Hall (Md.), 8-1

Jacob Kelly continued his stellar season, scoring nine points in Calvert Hall’s 16-3 win over Archbishop Spalding (Md.). The Cardinals went 2-0 in their first week of conference play, also defeating Gilman (Md.). This week, road games against McDonogh (Md.) and St. Mary’s (Md.) are on the schedule. Previous: 1

2. St. Mary’s-Annapolis (Md.), 6-1

If there was doubt the Saints could keep the early-season momentum going, it was squashed with a 9-5 win over McDonogh (Md.). The Saints snapped a three-game losing streak to the Eagles. Previous: 3

3. Gonzaga (D.C.), 7-2

A trip to Florida yielded two more wins for Gonzaga last week. The Purple Eagles defeated Ponte Vedra (Fla.) 9-6 and Nease (Fla.) 12-5. They return home against Paul VI (Va.) on Tuesday. Previous: 4

4. Boys’ Latin (Md.), 7-1

Matt Brandau scored six goals and added an assist as Boys’ Latin defeated Gilman (Md.) in its second conference game of the year. The Lakers defeated Mount St. Joseph (Md.) 16-6 to kick off conference play. Previous: 5

5. Delbarton (N.J.), 4-0

The Green Wave got three goals from Tom Schelling and two each from Tommy MacCowatt, Nick Ramsey and James Santoro in a 10-9 win over Malvern Prep (Pa.) last week, as Delbarton moves into the top 10. 6. Haverford School (Pa.), 6-3

The Fords lost to St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) 16-5 on Saturday after defeating Academy New Church (Pa.) 13-10 to begin the week. They bounced back with a 16-4 win over West-ranked Bellevue (Wash.) on Monday. Haverford’s other losses are to national No. 1 Culver (Ind.) and one-loss Boys’ Latin (Md.). Previous: 2

7. St. John’s (D.C.), 8-1

Another week and another win for the Cadets. St. John’s defeated St. Christopher’s (Va.) 10-9 in its lone game of the week. DeMatha (Md.) is up next on Tuesday. Previous: 6

The Explorers dropped their first game of the year, 7-4 to Canadian powerhouse Hill Academy (Ontario). La Salle does not get a break as it faces Malvern Prep on Tuesday. Previous: 9

The Bears return to the top 10 after missing a week. Landon defeated Bullis (Md.) 10-5 in a crucial conference meeting to jump back into the rankings. Since losing back-to-back games, Landon has reeled off three straight wins. Previous: NR

A one-goal loss to Delbarton drops the Friars a few spots this week. Malvern’s only two losses this season are to defending champions: Calvert Hall and Delbarton. Previous: 7

2. Oxbridge Academy (Fla.), 14-2

The ThunderWolves kept rolling with in-state wins over St. Edward’s and Barron Collier last week. Reece Riccardo led with three goals in the 15-4 win over St. Edward’s, while Connor Davies had two goals and two assists and Shane Waina had two assists. Davies had five goals and five assists in the 16-4 win over Barron Collier. Oxbridge wraps up the regular season with two games this week. Previous: 3

3. Middle Creek (N.C.), 11-0

The Mustangs picked up a huge 11-9 win over previously-unbeaten Weddington (N.C.) to remain undefeated. Previous: 4

4. Episcopal Dallas (Texas), 10-2

The Eagles picked up two in-state wins against Greenhill and St. Mark’s. They beat Greenhill 18-4 to rebound from their second loss of the year and then won a 10-9 overtime thriller against St. Mark’s. They have a key game Friday at Dallas Jesuit (Texas). Previous: 6

5. Highland Park (Texas), 7-3

Pete Sitton scored the game-tying and winning goals as the Scots rallied to knock off previously-unbeaten The Woodlands 5-4 in a matchup of top Texas teams. They also beat Kingwood (Texas) 15-2 last week. The Scots’ losses have been to IMG National (Fla.), nationally-ranked Torrey Pines (Calif.) and Episcopal Dallas. Previous: NR

The Highlanders opened the week with a 19-0 win over Houston Christian (Texas) before losing for the first time this year. Highland Park won a defensive battle 5-4. Previous: 2

8. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 10-2

The Scots enter the rankings after opening last week with an impressive 9-8 overtime win over Jupiter (Fla.). Matt Adams had three goals, including the game winner, and two assists. 9. Weddington (N.C.), 8-1

The Warriors beat Mount Tabor (N.C.) 14-6 and then squeezed past Northwest Guilford (N.C.) 10-9 in overtime last week before suffering their first loss to Middle Creek. Anthony Todaro had five goals and three assists against Mount Tabor. James Shipley led with five goals and one assist as Weddington held off Northwest Guilford. 1. Culver Military Academy (Ind.), 11-0

The Eagles are flying high after a pair of dominating home wins. Culver defeated St. Michael’s College (Canada) 26-7 on Friday, then follow with a 23-0 shutout over Hamburg (N.Y.) the next day. The Eagles travel to Brother Rice (Mich.) on Saturday. Previous: 1

2. Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.), 3-0

The Shamrocks had a week off after their March 28 win over East Grand Rapids (Mich.), thanks to a snow out. Catholic Central has a challenging game coming on Tuesday at Brother Rice (Mich.). Previous: 3

3. New Trier (Ill.), 7-0

The unbeaten Trevians are riding a 15-game winning streak dating back to last year after beating Glenbrook South (Ill.) 14-4 on the road and Glenbard West (Ill.) 7-4 at home last week. Tough matches loom this week against Ohio powerhouses Cincinnati St. Xavier and Olentangy Liberty. Previous: 5

4. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 5-0

The Ramblers went on a three-game Mid-Atlantic road trip last week and came away with three wins, including two tight ones. Loyola started the trip on April 5 with a 9-8 win at Good Counsel (Md.), then collected a 15-6 win at Calverton (Md.) and finished with a 9-8 result at Georgetown Prep (Md.), which has a win over nationally-ranked Gonzaga (D.C.). 5. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 5-0

After beating Pickerington Central (Ohio) 18-5 on April 5, the Golden Bears held on to beat Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio) 9-7 to remain undefeated. Senior Ben Tjaden scored seven times against Pickerington Central and Nikolas Schickram notched a hat trick against Cincinnati St. Xavier. Previous: NR

6. Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 4-1

The Bombers continued their challenging schedule last week by defeating Detroit Country Day 15-2, losing to unbeaten Upper Arlington 9-7 and then responding to beat regional juggernaut Brother Rice (Mich.) 9-8 in overtime. Johnny Marrocco, who is preparing to make his college commitment in the coming weeks, scored 11 goals in three games last week for St. Xavier. Previous: 8

7. MICDS (Mo.), 6-2

Goalie Joe Maguire and the Rams’ usually stingy defense were not able to slow Memphis University School (Tenn.) on Saturday in a 15-6 loss, marking the most goals MICDS has allowed in a contest in six years. The Rams host Fort Zumwalt (Mo.) and Desmet Jesuit (Mo.) in the coming week. Previous: 2

8. Brother Rice (Mich.), 1-2

The Warriors came up empty in last week’s trip to Ohio, losing at Olentangy Liberty, 8-6, on Friday and at Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio), 9-8, on Saturday. The Wildcats have won five straight since a loss in Tennessee, including two victories last week. After defeating Webster Groves (Mo.) 13-4 on April 4, they topped Lindbergh (Mo.) 12-2 on Saturday. Chase Baker scored five times against Webster Groves and added two assists. Previous: 9

1. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 9-1

The Falcons traveled East for a big test against national No. 2 Darien (Conn.) and fell 14-4 but rebounded to beat Ridgefield (Conn.) 9-7. Darien led just 4-2 after the first quarter, but Torrey Pines let it slip from there as the Blue Wave won 20 of 22 faceoffs and took advantage for their 57^th straight win. Against Ridgefield, the defense withstood 10 man-down situations, and junior attackman Alex Pistorious led all scorers with three goals and one assist. Previous: 1

2. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 6-1

Will Dennen and Jake Taylor each scored three goals to lead the Raiders to a 13-10 win over Mountain Vista (Colo.) on April 4. Joe Kassal won 11 of 21 faceoff attempts and added two goals. Regis was set to play Heritage (Colo.) on Monday, followed by a match against previously-ranked Arapahoe (Colo.) on Wednesday. Previous: 2  

3. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 9-1

The Mavericks edged Harvard-Westlake (Calif.) 12-11, then collected their first out-of-state win against Corner Canyon (Utah). J.J. Sillstrop led LCC with a game-high five goals in the 9-5 victory over Corner Canyon, and Jorge Montgomery added two goals. Previous: 3 

4. St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.), 12-0

The Tartans continue their ascent in the West, adding three more wins last week to their untarnished record. After beating De La Salle (Calif.) 12-6, they picked up a pair of out-of-state wins, routing O’Dea (Wash.) 19-8 and then holding off Mount St. Joseph (Md.) 11-8 on Saturday. 5. Mountain Vista (Colo.), 3-2

The Golden Eagles started last week with a loss to Regis Jesuit, but finished by upsetting then-No. 4 Cherry Creek (Colo.) 9-8 on Saturday to move into the rankings. Their other loss was to South-ranked Highland Park (Texas). Previous: NR

6. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 5-2

The defending state champion Bruins suffered their second loss to Mountain Vista on Saturday but remain in the top 10 thanks to an 11-9 win over then-No. 6 Columbine (Colo.) earlier in the week. Cherry Creek led 7-0 at half against Columbine and fended off a second-half rally to hand the Rebels their first loss. Gabriel Minisini led the Bruins with three goals and three assists, and Knox Dent had 13 saves. A game against Cherokee Trail, originally scheduled for Friday, was moved to April 14. Previous: 4

7. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 12-2

The Wolves cruised to a 14-4 win over Davis (Calif.) in their only game of the week, and now are in the midst of a nine-day break from action. At one point against Davis, San Ramon Valley scored seven straight goals, and the Wolves held the Devils off the board for the final 16 minutes. They pick back up Friday against Granada (Calif.).  Previous: 7 

8. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 14-1

The Knights bounced back from a loss to San Ramon Valley with two wins last week, including handing Westlake (Calif.) its second defeat of the season, 21-13, on Thursday. Andrew Cumming had six goals and three assists, Josh Fox added four goals and Ellis Geis chipped in two goals and three assists against Westlake. Previous: 8 

9. Bellevue (Wash.), 7-2

The Wolverines opened their trip to the East Coast with a competitive 9-6 loss to Garden City (N.Y.) on Saturday, then fell 16-4 to nationally-ranked Haverford School (Pa.) on Monday. They finish the trip at Downingtown East (Pa.) on Tuesday. Previous: 9

10. Oregon Episcopal (Ore.), 3-0

The Aardvarks needed double overtime to beat Portland Jesuit (Ore.) but remained undefeated with the 6-5 win Saturday in the Fritz Hayes Classic at West Linn (Ore.), featuring the OHSLA final four teams from last year.
