The United Women’s Lacrosse League announced Thursday the 10-week schedule for its second season. The UWLX will kick off its sophomore season at Attleboro High School (Mass.) on May 27 and finish with the championship game on Aug. 2 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

The four-team UWLX is back this summer after an inaugural season that saw the Long Island Sound defeat the Boston Storm in the championship game at Homewood Field in Baltimore. The Sound, Storm, Baltimore Ride and Philadelphia Force made up their rosters through the 2016 UWLX Draft and competed in the seven-week first season.

Since that season ended last July, a new commissioner has taken the reins. National Lacrosse Hall of Famer Michele DeJulius, who led the UWLX for through its first season, stepped down in December. Gary Gait, also a Hall of Famer and one of the most influential figures in the sport, is the interim commissioner.

This season, UWLX games will appear in 11 different locations around the East Coast, including appearances in New York, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Connecticut and Virginia. The semifinals will be held at Harvard on July 29.

The UWLX will open its season on May 27, just 20 minutes away from Gillette Stadium, the site of both the NCAA men's and women's championship weekends. Boston will battle Philadelphia at 5 p.m. and Long Island will meet Baltimore at 7 p.m.
