The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its Division I All-Americans and award winners Thursday. Yale’s Ben Reeves, a three-time first-team All-American attackman, earned the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award as the nation’s most outstanding player.

Loyola’s Pat Spencer (Lt. Col. J.I. (Jack) Turnbull Award/ Attackman of the Year), Denver’s Trevor Baptiste (Lt. j.g. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Award/Midfielder of the Year), Notre Dame’s John Sexton (William C. Schmeisser Award/Defensive Player of the Year) and Albany’s JD Colarusso (Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Award/Goalie of the Year) also were named the most outstanding players at their respective positions.

Baptiste, who set the NCAA Division I career faceoff wins record this season, is a two-time winner of the MacLaughlin Award. He also is just the sixth player in history to finish his college career as a four-time first-team All-American, joining Johns Hopkins’ Doug Turnbull (1922-25), St. John’s Everett Smith (1934-37), Maryland’s Frank Urso (1973-76), Johns Hopkins’ Del Dressel (1983-86) and Syracuse’s Mike Powell (2001-04).

Yale placed six players total on the first, second and third teams, the most of any team. Albany, the Bulldogs’ opponent in the NCAA semifinals Saturday, placed five. Duke had four, including three first-teamers. Loyola, Cornell, Maryland, Denver and Georgetown placed three All-Americans apiece on the top three teams.
