The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage. The South Region has completed its season.

NORTHEAST

Kaleigh Sommers, Fairfield Ludlowe (Conn.)

Fairfield Ludlowe advanced the CIAC Class L semifinals for the first time since 2011, and the sophomore Sommers was a big reason why. Her domination of the draw meant the Falcons were on offense for much of the game. She also had two goals — off clean draw control wins — and a pair of assists in a 15-5 win over Greenwich as seventh-seeded Ludlowe advance to take on sixth-seeded Simsbury in the semifinals Tuesday.

Also notable: Olivia Kaval, Garden City (N.Y.); Dillyn Patten, New Canaan (Conn.); Emma Gebhardt, Baldwinsville (N.Y.); Chole Humphrey, Darien (Conn.); Kaylie Mackiewicz, Northport (N.Y.)

MID-ATLANTIC

Emma DiSantis, Sewickley Academy (Pa.)

After tallying a game-high six goals of her own, DiSantis fed Elsa Gordon for the game-winner with four seconds left to give Sewickley Academy an 18-17 comeback win over Mt. Lebanon (Pa.) in the Class 3A state quarterfinals Saturday. It was the only lead of the game for Sewickley, which advances to its first state semifinal.

DiSantis also scored six goals in a 19-17 win over Wilson (Pa.) in the first round, with five of them coming in the final 20 minutes.

Also notable: Tori DiCarlo, Radnor (Pa.); Devon Maillet, Strath Haven (Pa.); Megan Marengo, Conestoga (Pa.); Sophie Straka, Chatham (N.J.)
