The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

NORTHEAST

MK Lescault, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (N.Y.)

MK Lescault had a very good week for Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. It’s the latest in what has been a spectacular career. The Johns Hopkins commit had nine goals in a 17-11 win over Saratoga Springs (N.Y.) and followed that with a four-goal performance in a 14-3 victory over Shenendehowa (N.Y.).

That increases Lescault’s season total to 92 goals and 27 assists and 237 goals and 119 assists in a career that didn’t include a freshman season canceled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Also notable: Ella Blesi, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (N.Y.); Mary Gotsch, New Rochelle (N.Y.); Chloe Humphrey, Darien (Conn.); Emma Muchnick, Suffern (N.Y.); Eva Pronti, Victor (N.Y.); Delaney Radin, Long Beach (N.Y.)

MID-ATLANTIC

Natalie Shurtleff, St. Paul’s (Md.)

The junior midfielder scored five goals in the first half as St. Paul’s took a 12-3 lead into halftime of their 15-7 win over Glenelg Country (Md.) in the IAAM A Conference championship May 13. That performance stood in stark contrast to their first meeting with Glenelg – their only loss of the season – in which Shurtleff didn’t make it through the first half after being disqualified with a pair of yellow cards. The Clemson commit also had six goals in the Gators’ 13-9 semifinal win over McDonogh (Md.) to set up the rematch with Glenelg for the crown. It’s the second straight IAAM A Conference title for the Gators.

Also notable: Mackenzie Clark, Methacton (Pa.); Jamie Collender, Mercy (Md.); Alexis Hobson, Wissahickon (Pa.); Emma Kennedy, Glenelg High (Md.); Teagan Kocaj, Oak Knoll (N.J.); Paris Masaracchia, Bishop Shanahan (Pa.); Madeleine Rudolph, Good Counsel (Md.); Ella Webb, St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.)

Anna Mellinger stepped up in the biggest games of the season. The freshman scored a team-leading four goals in the state championship game against Creekview (Ga.) to lead Milton to its fifth straight state title. Mellinger also assisted the game winner in the championship. Mellinger also had two goals and an assist in the state semifinal victory against Walton (Ga.).

Also notable: Lexi Mullahy, Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.); Maeve Simonds, Milton (Ga.)

MIDWEST

Grace Curry, New Trier (Ill.)

The Trevians senior helped lift her team to victory against a game University School of Milwaukee squad with four goals and an assist. Not that four goals is rare for Curry. She notched the same total against one of Michigan's top teams, Rockford, and had a goal and three assists against Evanston (Ill.).

Also notable: Abby Cole, New Albany (Ohio); Maeve Dwyer, Loyola Academy (Ill.); Maggie Farragher, Evanston (Ill.); Allie Hartnett, Jackson (Ohio); Molly Janssen, University School of Milwaukee (Wisc.); Adrienne Leone, Loyola Academy (Ill.); Ellie McClelland, New Albany (Ohio); Grace Tuttle, University School of Milwaukee (Wisc.)
