The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

NORTHEAST

Eva Pronti, Victor (N.Y.)

Eva Pronti had her fingerprints all over Victor’s ascension into the national elite this week. The Duke-bound senior attack had two goals and three assists in an 8-7 win at New Canaan (Conn.) and followed that with four goals and seven assists in a 13-7 win over Skaneateles.

“As Eva has embraced her primary role, threading passes like a needle, she has demonstrated great leadership on the offensive end of the field,” Victor coach Niki Frunzi said. “Eva is the quarterback to our offense, assisting five or six of her teammates a game, creating a spread of threats for our opponents to defend. As Victor has found many avenues to success this year, Eva has been a main street.”.

MID-ATLANTIC

Kendall Steer, St. Paul’s (Md.)

The senior midfielder scored four goals and added an assist while providing key leadership to help the Gators to a 17-8 win in a battle of unbeatens over McDonogh (Md.) Steer was part of a 7-0 run to start the game that keyed the win. Steer also scored twice and assisted on two other goals in a 21-10 win over St. Mary’s Annapolis (Md.) as St. Paul’s remained perfect through 11-0 games this year. Steer is committed to Georgetown along with her sister, Lauren who is a junior at St. Paul’s.

Marleigh Belinfanti, Hillgrove (Ga.)

Belinfanti has helped Hillgrove to an impressive 15-1 start. The sophomore scored seven times against Lassiter (Ga.), and then helped Hillgrove to a 13-10 win over Walton (Ga.) with a hat trick. Her squad played perennial powerhouse Milton (Ga.) this week. (Editor's note: Hillgrove won 7-6 to improve to 16-1 and snap Milton's in-state winning streak dating back to 2016.)

MIDWEST

Brooke Ross, New Trier (Ill.)

There are few bigger games across the Midwest, if any, than Loyola Academy (Ill.)-New Trier and senior captain Brooke Ross shone for the Trevians in their 11-10 win over the Ramblers. The defender/midfielder did a little bit of everything, including racking up four draw controls and two groundballs. The senior also had one of the night's biggest goals, capping New Trier's rally from a three-goal halftime deficit with a go-ahead score with 10:35 to go.

Delaney Walsh, La Jolla (Calif.)

The junior led La Jolla to a notable 15-7 win over West-ranked Scripps Ranch (Calif.), as the Vikings became the first team to beat the Falcons since April 2019. Walsh scored three goals and assisted four others, while also helping her team maintain a possession advantage with 11 draw controls. She also had one goal and four draw controls in an 11-10 loss to Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) earlier last week.
