The USA Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

NORTHEAST

Graham Straface, Nashoba Regional (Mass.)

With more weeks like she just had, Graham Straface will quickly reach the 200-point milestone and turn the corner on 300 career points. The Quinnipiac-bound senior attack had a 19-point week for Nashoba Regional (Mass.).

It started with four goals and two assists against Leominster on April 5 before erupting for eight goals and five assists vs. Middlesex on April 7. Averaging five goals and four assists per game, Straface, a Central Massachusetts All-Star her freshman and junior year, has 179 career points.

MID-ATLANTIC

Maggie Weissman, Glenelg Country Day (Md.)

The senior midfielder scored five goals and helped the Dragons own the draw control early on their way to a 15-7 win over highly regarded Notre Dame Prep (Md.). Glenelg won eight of the first 12 draws and Weissman snared four of them. The Maryland commit helped the Dragons jump out to a 4-1 lead. Weissman also had an assist in the win, the fourth straight for Glenelg.

SOUTH

Ryann Frechette, Bartram Trail (Fla.)

Frechette stepped up in a major way, leading Bartram Trail to a trio of blowout wins. The sophomore midfielder scored five goals against Starr’s Mill (Ga.), three times against Oviedo (Fla.) and four tallies against Bishop Moore (Fla.). She also had four assists and six draw controls against Starr’s Mill and four assists and eight draw controls versus Oviedo. She has 66 goals and 37 assists so far this season.

MIDWEST

Maeve Dwyer, Loyola Academy (Ill.)

The Ramblers once again proved they can play with anyone in the country on an impressive 2-2 swing through the East Coast. Over five games this past week, four against top East Coast teams, Dwyer compiled 15 goals, five assists and 23 draw controls. That included five goals and five draws in a win over Hill Academy (Ont.). The Notre Dame commit also had a hat trick against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.) and five draws against Georgetown Visitation (D.C.).

WEST

Kayden Williamson, Scripps Ranch (Calif.)

The senior captain came up big last week in three wins to help Scripps Ranch remain unbeaten through 41 straight games dating back to April 2019. Williamson took the reins in a tightly contested 14-11 league win over Coronado (Calif.), finishing with nine goals and one assist. In a 17-13 victory over Cathedral Catholic (Calif.), she was face-guarded the entire game but still managed to score three goals. She then finished the week with four goals and two assists in a 14-7 win over San Marcos (Calif.) to give her 16 goals for the week. Williamson has started every game of her four-year varsity career.
