The three U.S. Women’s National Team games at the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) President’s Cup this weekend in Florida will be streamed on ESPN3.

The President’s Cup, a signature event of the IWLCA, will feature more than 300 teams competing at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort Nov. 16-18 in one of the sport’s biggest recruiting showcases.

"I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to play in front of, and encourage, thousands of young girls to work hard, set goals, and chase their dreams,” said Team USA defender Alice Mercer. “Someday, they'll be in our shoes.”

On Saturday, Nov. 17, the U.S. will play an intra-squad Blue-White exhibition at 4 p.m., under Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) rules and will then play modified games against select teams from the United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) at 6:15 p.m., and the Women’s Professional Lacrosse League (WPLL) at 7:30 p.m.

The games against the professional teams will utilize a fast-paced 6-on-6 version of the sport currently in development by the FIL. This new lacrosse discipline will be played on a condensed field and will feature four 8-minute quarters, a 45-second shot clock and draws only at the start of quarters, along with other rule modifications. The U.S. team had a trial run involving the new rules in a scrimmage following the Team USA Fall Classic in October.

Mercer is one of 12 U.S. players competing that won a gold medal at the 2017 FIL World Championship, but head coach Jenny Levy will be looking at younger players as the U.S. builds toward the 2021 FIL World Championship, which will be hosted by US Lacrosse at Towson University. Six current collegiate players -- including 2018 Tewaaraton winner Sam Apuzzo from Boston College – will play with the U.S. team this weekend.

Admission to the Team USA events at the President’s Cup is included with the regular ticket price to the sports complex.

The U.S. women’s national team trains and plays using best-in-class products provided by Nike (apparel and footwear), Brine (equipment), STX (equipment), SISU Guard (mouthguards), The Pearl by Guardian (balls) and DJO (sports braces).

Additionally, Chipotle Mexican Grill, Greenfields, Nationwide and MedStar Sports Medicine are official sponsors of Team USA. Team training is also aided by products from Motive Pure, NormaTec Recovery and Athletic Republic.
