The US Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.
Players of the Week from the Northeast will be announced once play begins in the region.

Maddigan Leifer, St. Joseph Trumbull (Conn.)
The junior midfielder tallied seven goals, eight assists, 10 draw controls, seven ground balls and six caused turnovers in the first three games of her season last week. Leifer also scored the overtime winner in an 11-10 victory over crosstown rival Trumbull High on Saturday.
“Maddigan is a complete player,” St. Joe’s coach Leeland Gray said. “As a midfielder, she is wicked quick on the draw circle, she is tough as nails on defense, and Maddigan has a relentless determination and ability to finish on the offensive end of the field.”
