The US Lacrosse Players of the Week recognize the most outstanding individual performances in high school girls’ lacrosse in each of the five regions — Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, South, Midwest and West — outlined in our high school coverage.

Players of the Week from the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest will be announced once play begins in each respective region.

SOUTH

Jordyn Case, Weddington (N.C.)

Case, a junior midfielder committed to Stanford, has proved to be an all-around player for Weddington. Last week, she scored eight goals in two games to lead the team to victory over Norfolk Academy (Va.) and St. Anne’s-Belfield (Va.). She also was proficient in the circle, winning 65 percent of draws, on top of securing 23 ground balls in two games.

WEST

Catie Grace Carrington, San Ramon Valley (Calif.)

The senior totaled 18 points over three games last week, scoring nine goals and assisting nine others. She had a season-high seven points in a 22-5 win over Dougherty Valley (Calif.) on Friday, tallying three goals and four assists. Carrington, a senior headed to San Diego State, has 13 goals and 12 assists during a 5-0 start for SRV this season.
