In an effort to help mitigate the potential effects of the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health threat, US Lacrosse is postponing all events scheduled through April 5 and is canceling two national events scheduled for May — the Women’s Collegiate Lacrosse Associates (WCLA) National Championships in Round Rock, Texas and the US Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament in Bel Air, Md.

More than 80 percent of the WCLA teams are currently not playing and many have had their seasons canceled, making the ability to conduct the championship unfeasible.

The US Lacrosse Women’s National Tournament was not scheduled until May 23-24, but the majority of regional tryouts for the event were scheduled for the next few weeks. Given the inability to conduct those tryouts for a number of reasons, it was determined the best course of action was to cancel the event rather than provide a sub-optimal experience for participants.

For other events scheduled after April 5, US Lacrosse will continue to assess their viability and make any additional adjustments.

The postponements include the following events:

  • US Lacrosse Coach Development Program instructional clinics

  • US Lacrosse TryLax events

  • US Lacrosse Sankofa clinics

  • Player evaluations for the National Team Development Program on March 28, 29 and April 4

US Lacrosse intends to reschedule postponed events. Registrants for postponed events will be able to transfer their registration fee to a rescheduled event or request a refund.

During this time, the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame and Museum will be closed to the public and all events scheduled on Tierney Field through April 5 are canceled.

We encourage individuals to contact their local healthcare providers and public health authorities if they have questions or concerns regarding individual medical advice. Given the fluid nature of this situation, US Lacrosse will continue to monitor information from the CDC, and state and local public health authorities, and will share any updates that relate directly to the lacrosse community.
