UMass Lowell announced Thursday morning that Drew Kelleher will be named the university’s next men’s lacrosse coach. Kelleher becomes the second head coach of the River Hawks since the program’s reinstatement in 2015.

Former UMass Lowell coach Ed Stephenson resigned on May 9 after going 28-77 over eight seasons.

Kelleher spent the last seven seasons at Manhattan, where, in 2022, he guided the program to its first MAAC championship since 2002 and its second-ever NCAA tournament appearance.

Before Manhattan, Kelleher was the offensive coordinator at Boston University from 2012-15.

Manhattan associate head coach John Odierna has been named the interim head coach of the Jaspers.
