Towson men’s lacrosse coach Shawn Nadelen will serve a self-imposed two-game suspension to start the season due to an NCAA compliance violation, the university announced Friday on Twitter.

Towson self-reported the violation, according to the tweet, which added there would be no further statement from the school.

Coming off an abbreviated 0-6 season, the Tigers open the 2021 campaign Saturday at No. 5 Virginia. The 4 p.m. Eastern game will be broadcast live on the ACC Network.

Nadelen, the 10th-year head coach, also will miss Towson’s Feb. 13 game against Saint Joseph’s.
