Unbeaten Torrey Pines (Calif.) is the new No. 1 in the West and debuts at No. 23 in the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Boys’ National Top 25 after defeating Colorado power Regis Jesuit 15-8 in a showdown of the top two teams in the region Monday.

Top-ranked Culver (Ind.) and the six teams behind it hold onto their perch for another week, though certainly the onset of meaningful lacrosse in the Northeast could lead to a shakeup in the coming weeks. Of particular importance, No. 12 St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) visits No. 19 Yorktown (N.Y.) on Tuesday, and No. 7 Victor (N.Y.) hosts No. 10 Jamesville-Dewitt (N.Y.) on Thursday.

In the Mid-Atlantic region, Gonzaga (D.C.), which moved into the national rankings at No. 24, will look to prove its staying power with a Tuesday-Thursday home swing against No. 1 Culver (Ind.) and No. 5 Boys’ Latin (Md.). No. 9 Haverford School (Pa.) continues its early-season intersectional gauntlet Thursday when it hosts No. 14 Landon (Md.), whose loss to Brunswick (Conn.) was largely responsible for the latter moving into the top 10.
