For the second straight week, the top six teams remain unchanged in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20, led by No. 1 Florida Southern. The top-ranked Mocs ended a 14-day layoff by winning two games – both on the same day – and improving to 4-0 overall. The doubleheader, a rare occurrence for college teams but permissible by NCAA rules, featured wins over Seton Hill and Tusculum last Saturday.

FSC is not done with its double-dip scheduling as it plays two more games today against Young Harris and Westminster. Yes folks, that’s four games, all at home, in less than 72 hours.

No. 2 Lindenwood and No. 3 Adelphi both posted easy victories to maintain their positions. In total, the top ten teams in last week’s poll registered a combined 11-2 record on the week. No. 4 Le Moyne had its game against Assumption postponed due to weather, but returns to action with two neutral site games this week at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Maryland against Grand Valley State and No. 12 Regis.

The only ranked teams to lose last week were East Stroudsburg and NYIT, which both fell out of the top ten. Colorado Mesa, ranked 15th in the preseason, climbed into the top 10 for the first time after improving to 3-0 overall.

HOT

Regis (+3)

The Rangers were impressive in two wins, defeating both UVA-Wise and Fort Lewis in home games. Regis had an eight-goal scorer in each game as Ali Vanek registered the feat against UVA-Wise and Sarah Myres tallied eight against Fort Lewis. The showdown with No. 4 Le Moyne looms this week.

West Chester (+3)

The Golden Rams have climbed six spots in the ranking over the past two weeks. Ten different players scored in WCU’s lopsided 24-1 win over Jefferson last week. Tatum Altman and Sami Barnett led the barrage with four goals each.

NOT

East Stroudsburg (-9)

The defending PSAC champions had a rough opening game, losing 12-11 in overtime to unranked Tiffin. ESU squandered a five-goal first half lead, and allowed a Tiffin goal with 27 seconds left in regulation that forced overtime.

NYIT (-9)

The Bears began their second varsity season with an unexpected surprise, an 18-17 home loss against unranked Georgian Court. NYIT rebounded three days later with a win over St. Thomas Aquinas as Alyssa Milano scored six goals.
