McCabe Millon, the top-ranked men’s lacrosse recruit in his class and the son of two National Lacrosse Hall of Fame players, has switched his commitment from Duke to Virginia.

“My decision to make a change was very difficult and solely based on me and my comfort level and where I see myself the next few years,” Millon said on social media Monday. “As I said last year, all the schools have so much to offer but I’ve decided that the University of Virginia is the place.”

Millon, a rising senior at McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland, also plays for Team 91 Maryland. His father, Mark, and mother, Erin, are the only husband-wife tandem to be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Inside Lacrosse ranked him No. 1 in the class of 2023.

Virginia had quite the haul over the weekend. Inside Lacrosse reported Sunday that Ryan Duenkel, its top-ranked recruit in the class of 2024, also has committed to play for the Cavaliers. Last Thursday marked the first day that college coaches could make recruiting contact with rising high school juniors.
