WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the first round of additions to the 2022 Tewaaraton Award Men’s and Women’s Watch Lists Presented by AXIA Time. The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for this year’s Tewaaraton Award.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Tewaaraton Foundation to recognize and celebrate this elite group of athletes,” said John Kanaras, Founder of AXIA Time. “The Watch Lists are an exciting part of the process that selects the finalists for the Tewaaraton Award."
“We’ve seen an exciting, action-packed start to the 2022 season. These players have distinguished themselves and earned their way onto our 2022 Watch Lists,” said Andy Phillips, President of the Tewaaraton Foundation. “The Tewaaraton Foundation would like to congratulate these players on their outstanding play thus far, and we wish them and their teams the best of luck for the rest of this season.”
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are comprised of premier college coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
The initial Watch List of 51 players was released February 10.

Players not named to the initial lists still have several opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. The next round of additions to the Tewaaraton Watch Lists Presented by AXIA Time will be announced on April 1. On April 21, the field will be narrowed to 25 men’s and 25 women’s nominees. Nominees can be players on the watch lists or players not on the watch lists, effectively allowing for a third round of additions.
Five men’s and five women’s finalists will be announced in early May and will be invited to the Tewaaraton Award Ceremony in Washington, D.C., on June 2.
