Taryn Ohlmiller followed her seven-point performance in the first round against Towson with four goals and eight assists on Sunday in a 20-8 win over Rutgers, passing Courtney Murphy for the most points in an NCAA tournament game in Stony Brook history.

Ohlmiller also became just the third player in NCAA tournament history to net 12 points in a game. She was one off Katie Rowan’s record of 13, and her eight assists tied the former Syracuse great for a single-game high.

Overall, Ohlmiller had a banner weekend. She posted a combined eight goals and 11 assists as Stony Brook advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals against top-seeded North Carolina. For her efforts, Ohlmiller is the USA Lacrosse Division I Women’s Player of the Week.

That wasn’t all. Ohlmiller now has 408 career points, passing Murphy and moving into second place in program history behind her older sister, Kylie Ohlmiller, who was in the broadcast booth calling the game for ESPN3. The elder Ohlmiller had 498 career points.
