Tampa was the biggest winner from the first week of conference tournaments, moving to No. 6 in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20. The Spartans jumped three places after earning their first SSC title. No. 8 Queens (South Atlantic Conference) and No. 9 Limestone (Conference Carolinas) also claimed tournament titles.

Defending champion Le Moyne still holds the top spot after fending off a challenge from NE10 nemesis Adelphi. The Dolphins edged the Panthers, 8-7, on a late goal from Bryanna Fazio to claim the number one seed for this week’s NE10 Tournament. Le Moyne carries a 24-game winning streak into Wednesday’s tournament opener against Stonehill.

No. 2 Regis, the only other undefeated team, is the top seed in the RMAC Tournament and earned a first round bye. The Rangers face the winner of Thursday’s Rockhurst-UC Colorado Springs game in Friday’s semifinal round. No. 4 Lindenwood, the RMAC Tournament host, is the number two seed and also has a first round bye.

In the PSAC, No. 5 West Chester and No. 16 East Stroudsburg earned the top two seeds and both begin play in the semifinal round on Friday. No. 15 Mercy and No. 20 NYIT are the top two seeds in the ECC Tournament.

Selections for the 16-team NCAA tournament will be announced Sunday evening.

HOT

Tampa (+3)

The Spartans claimed their first SSC crown by upsetting No. 4 Rollins and No. 6 Florida Southern in back-to-back games. An unassisted goal by Carly Vaccaro was the overtime winner in the 19-18 championship victory over FSC. Tampa prevailed despite squandering a seven-goal halftime lead, and also overcame FSC’s game-tying goal with 5 seconds remaining that forced the overtime.

Queens (+2)

The Royals won their sixth straight SAC title, dominating Lenoir-Rhyne 22-8 in the tournament final. The victory extended Queens’ winning streak to 14 games, a new program record. Ally Blood led the way in the championship game with a team-high seven points, including the 100th goal of her career.

NOT

Rollins (-6)

The Tars fell short in their effort to secure their first SSC Tournament title, falling to Tampa, 14-10, in the semifinal round. It was the third meeting of the season between the teams, with Rollins having won the first two match-ups. The loss also snapped a 12-game home winning streak.

Florida Southern (-5)

Despite a season-high 41 shots, the Mocs lost to Tampa for the second time this season, falling in overtime in the SSC final. The 19 goals allowed was one shy of the most goals ever allowed by FSC, with Tampa’s championship-winner coming just nine seconds into the extra session.

IN

Mercyhurst

The Lakers closed the regular season with an eight-game winning streak, their longest in four years, capped with a 21-10 victory over Kutztown Saturday. Mercyhurst begins play in the PSAC Tournament Tuesday, hosting Millersville in a quarterfinal match-up.

OUT

New Haven (formerly No. 19)

The Chargers finished 2-2 down the stretch run, with both losses coming in overtime. New Haven did close the regular season on a positive note with a 10-7 win over St. Anselm. The Chargers drew the number six seed for the NE10 Tournament, and visit Pace for a quarterfinal game Wednesday.
