American Heritage-Delray dealt national power St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) its first loss to a Florida team since 2012 and soared into the Nike/US Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25 at No. 8 this week. The Stallions (11-0) also defeated Georgia juggernaut Milton (Ga.), leaping over Hutchison (Tenn.) as the top-ranked team in the South. The team faces another significant test Tuesday when it plays national No. 19 Glenelg Country (Md.) as part of a doubleheader at Olympia (Fla.).

McDonogh (Md.) and Garden City (N.Y.) held steady at No. 1 and No. 2 in the national rankings, respectively.

The defending Maryland Class 3A/2A champion returns 17 players, including five Division I commits in its senior class. The Gladiators’ first game will be Tuesday against Notre Dame Prep (Md.). Previous: 4

1. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 11-0

The Stallions took a spot on the national stage when they opened the week with an impressive 12-10 win over St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.), ranked No. 7 in the country at the time. The Saints hadn’t lost to a Florida team since 2012. The Stallions finished the week with another impressive win, beating No. 4 Milton (Ga.) 18-8, and they were rewarded with a jump to the top of the rankings. Previous: 2  

2. Hutchison (Tenn.), 7-0

After opening the week with a 22-3 win at home over Briarcrest (Tenn.), the Sting went to Texas and knocked off No. 6 Episcopal School of Dallas, 14-10, and then beat Hockaday 29-9. Midfielders Elizabeth Farnsworth, Jordan Groover and Janessa Mai combined to win 37 draw controls in the two Texas games. For the week, Farnsworth led the team with 23 goals, 14 assists, 16 ground balls, 24 draw controls and nine forced turnovers. Previous: 1  

3. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 11-1

The Raiders rebounded from their first loss with wins over Pine Crest (Fla.) and Olympia (Fla.). In the 15-4 win over Pine Crest, Jada Preston led with four goals and an assist. In the 15-6 win over Olympia, Carly Steinlauf had a game-high seven goals and four assists, while Preston added four goals and two assists. Morgan Lusk had nine saves. The Raiders are idle this week. 4. Milton (Ga), 6-4

The Eagles went 1-2 during a tough portion of the schedule, picking up a 16-12 win over Hinsdale Central (Ill.) and losing to nationally-ranked St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes (Va.), 12-9, and new No. 1 American Heritage-Delray 18-8. The Eagles played shorthanded for 21 minutes of the American Heritage game because of yellow cards. Briana Carrasquillo scored 16 goals in the three games and won 17 draw controls. Previous: 4

The Crusaders rebounded from their loss to Milton with a 15-1 win over Enloe (N.C.), as 12 different players scored goals. This week, they host Springfield-Delco, the Pennsylvania PIAA AAA state runner-up last year. Previous: 5

6. Episcopal School of Dallas (Texas), 4-1

The Eagles opened the week with a 14-10 loss to then-No. 1 Hutchison, but rebounded with a 20-14 win over St. Mary’s (Tenn.). They were scheduled to play Stone Ridge (D.C.) on Monday. Previous: 6  

7. Lassiter (Ga.), 10-2

The Trojans won their only game of the week, beating Hinsdale Central (Ill.) 10-9. They are idle until April 7 when they play at nationally-ranked Glenelg (Md.). Previous: 7

Gabby Sposato had three goals in the win over LHP and led with six goals and one assist in the win over Charlotte Country Day. The Ramblers blanked previously unbeaten Maine South (Ill.) 17-0 on March 20. Riley Dolan and Ellie Lazzaretto each had four goals for Loyola, which also collected a forfeit win over Montini Catholic (Ill.) on Saturday. Previous: 2

Freshman Katie Rodriguez stepped up with five goals to help the Rams to a 26-2 win over Birmingham Unified (Mich.) on Saturday in her first high school game. Brooklyn Neumen led Rockford with six goals. Previous: 3

The Trevians started last week off on a high note, defeating St. Charles (Ill.) 19-8 on March 21, and Vernon Hills (Ill.) 19-1 the next day. The Irish recovered from a 1-2 start to the season with an 11-8 win over previously unbeaten Carmel (Ind.) on March 20. Three days later, Cathedral overpowered Anderson (Ohio) by a 12-2 ledger. Previous: 10

The Polar Bears started the season off with a 10-4 win over Dublin Jerome (Ohio) on Friday. Goalie Grace Merrill made seven saves, and Anna Woodhams scored four times. Massillon Jackson is traveling this week for a pair of contests in the nation’s capital. Previous: 9

The Hornets came back from a challenging trip to Florida and breezed to a 24-1 win over Branson (Calif.) on March 21. Now they get a 10-day break as a reward, but they’re well prepared after collecting a notable win against St. Paul’s (Md.) the week prior and playing national No. 1 McDonogh (Md.) to within eight goals. 2. Colorado Academy (Colo.), 4-0

Lauren Russell registered four goals and Sloane Murphy added three as the Mustangs beat St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.) 11-7.  Ella Marks had eight saves. They opened a two-game swing in California with a 19-12 win over Menlo to open the week, and Russell and Murphy were even more impressive in the high-scoring affair. Russell had eight goals in that game, while Murphy added four goals and one assist. Up next is Cleveland Heights (Ohio) on April 2. Previous: 2

3. Lake Oswego (Ore.), 5-0

The Lakers went to California and collected a big win over Radnor (Pa.) on Monday, by a 13-10 margin. During that trip they also had a pair of lopsided wins, beating Dos Pueblos (Calif.) 18-1 and Holy Child (N.Y.) 16-4 over the weekend. They play Mater Dei (Calif.) on Tuesday. Previous: 6

4. La Costa Canyon (Calif.), 7-1

The Mavericks were still impressive while taking their first loss Saturday, falling 9-8 in a close game against Potomac School (Va.), which remains unbeaten through five games. The loss followed a pair of wins over Poway (Calif.) and San Marcos-San Diego (Calif.). C.J. Jones had 10 goals and three assists in the two wins, while Sarah McLean added seven goals and three assists and Tessa Bass had seven goals and two assists. Previous: 3 

5. Cherry Creek (Colo.), 5-0

The Bruins are averaging 19.4 goals per game after collecting 20-8 and 23-7 wins over Columbine (Colo.) and Chatfield (Colo.), respectively, last week. Pearl Schwartz had 15 goals and two assists combined over the two games, Hali Sibilia had seven goals and eight assists, and Morgan Haws had four goals, all against Chatfield. 6. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 5-2

The Falcons cruised to a 22-7 win over Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) but then couldn’t pull off an upset of unbeaten Potomac School (Va.) on Monday in a 15-8 loss. Only La Costa Canyon has been able to hold them under 11 goals this season. Torrey Pines is set to play Glenbrook South (Ill.) on Tuesday. Previous: 5

7. Arapahoe (Colo.), 1-0

The Warriors have been idle since opening with a 15-3 win over Kent Denver (Colo.) on March 9. They return to the field Tuesday with the start of a pair of spring break games in California against Poway and La Costa Canyon. Previous: 8 

8. Eastside Catholic (Wash.), 3-0

Maddie McMaster continues to terrorize opponents, this time racking up nine goals and five assists in a 25-7 win over Bishop Blanchet (Wash.). She also won 10 draws. Kyleigh Ramos tallied six goals, Jessie Carroll had two goals and four assists, and Alexa Steffens added three goals and three assists. Previous: 8

9. Oak Ridge (Calif.), 6-1

The Trojans move up a spot with help from La Jolla (Calif.) dropping out. Oak Ridge routed Carondelet (Calif.) 16-6 in its only game last week. It was 8-3 at halftime. Up next is an April 4 game against Bella Vista (Calif.). Previous: 9

10. St. Margaret’s (Calif.), 5-0

The Tartans make their debut in the rankings, checking in at No. 10 after a week that included wins against formerly ranked Mater Dei (Calif.), 12-10, and Tesoro (Calif.), 16-3.
