Champions are starting to be crowned in the Northeast, providing a little more clarity to the top 10 boys’ regional rankings as well as the National Top 25.

Darien (Conn.) captured an 18th FCIAC tournament championship Friday, and St. Anthony’s (N.Y.) rallied to beat Chaminade to claim a second straight CHSAA Class AAA title a day later. That means, for a second straight week, we have a new No. 1 team.

1. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 11-1

St. Anthony’s rallied in the second half to defeat Chaminade (N.Y.) 12-11 in the CHSAA Class AAA final at Chaminade’s Gold Star Stadium on Saturday. The Friars erased a two-goal halftime deficit by scoring four consecutive goals, shutting out Chaminade in the third quarter, to wrestle control back in the game. Owen Duffy finished with three goals, Mike Leo and Andrew McAdorey tallied two goals and two assists apiece, John Maccarone had two goals and an assist and Jack Ponzio added a pair of goals for the Friars, who withstood a late rally to claim the title. 2. Manhasset (N.Y.), 9-0

No matter the opponent, Manhasset scores goals — a lot of them. The Indians are averaging 17.1 per game in nine straight wins to open the season and netted a season-high 20 in a convincing 20-8 victory over Locust Valley (N.Y.) on Saturday. Aidan Mulholland racked up three goals and three assists, Alex Giacobe had three goals and two assists, Rory Connor contributed three goals and one assist, Matthew Perfetto chipped in two goals and three assists and Aidan Haggerty added two goals and two assists. 3. Chaminade (N.Y.), 9-2

With Will Lynch and Mac Rodriguez dominating faceoffs, the Flyers led for most of the first half against St. Anthony’s and took a two-goal edge into the second half but couldn’t hold on for the win. Chaminade rallied late on Charles Balsamo’s third goal of the game with 12.1 seconds left and won the ensuing faceoff, but a tying goal was not in the cards, as Chaminade settled for CHSAA Class AAA runner-up. Lynch also had three goals and one assist, Tom Casey had a pair of goals and Alex Zepf made seven saves in the defeat. Previous: 1

4. Brunswick (Conn.), 14-3

Brunswick School closed out the season with consecutive wins over Avon Old Farms (Conn.), including a 16-8 victory in the finale. Tommy Quinson led with four goals, Luke Waters had two goals and one assist, Tomas Delgado scored a pair of goals and Coulter Mackesy had one goal and two assists. Previous: 4

5. Darien (Conn.), 18-1

The Blue Wave turned a close game at halftime into a rout by shutting out Staples (Conn.) in the second half en route to a 15-3 win in the FCIAC championship game. Coach Jeff Brameier called it his team’s most complete performance of the year. Matt Minicus led the way with three goals and five assists, Connor O’Malley and Christian Alliegro scored three goals apiece, Andy Demopoulos made 10 saves and Tighe Cummiskey acquitted himself well at the faceoff X after struggling in the first quarter. Darien heads into the CIAC tournament as the top seed and clear favorite in Class L. The Blue Wave host either Glastonbury or Trumbull in the first round. Previous: 5

6. Victor (N.Y.), 10-0

In a battle of undefeated teams, Victor topped Webster Thomas (N.Y.) 9-6 Friday night. Thomas Gravino led the Blue Devils with three goals, including the tying goal with 5.9 seconds left in the third quarter. Cal Lambert gave Victor an lead early in the fourth, and Pax Marshall and Sam Gotham scored two goals apiece, including tallies a minute apart midway through the fourth quarter, as the Blue Devils pulled away. 7. Mount Sinai (N.Y.), 11-0

Joey Spallina tallied two goals and three assists, Derek Takacs scored a pair of goals, Pat Deckert had one goal and one assist and Matt Graffeo made six saves as the Mustangs collected a 9-7 win over Harborfields (N.Y.). The Wildcats return to the rankings after an 18-8 win over previously ranked Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.) on Friday. Jeff Lachenmeyer led with four goals and three assists, Johnny Schwartz and Alec Gregorek added four goals and one assist apiece, Francisco Cortes had two goals and one assist and Liam Kershis chipped in one goal and three assists. The Mustangs continue to roll the competition, defeating Bloomfield-Honeoye (N.Y.) 18-3 on Friday. Ayden Mowry led the charge with six goals and an assist, Max Brodmann finished with four goals, Oliver Connelly had two goals and one assist and Carter Earl racked up five assists as Penn Yan raced out to a 13-0 lead after the first quarter. After suffering their lone defeat of the year — a three-goal loss to nationally ranked Mount Sinai, the Warriors have reeled off seven straight wins, including an impressive 12-5 victory at Westhampton (N.Y.) on Friday. Michael Katz had four goals and one assist, Vincent Gerbstman scored four goals, Corey Watson had two goals and one assist, Jake Deacy added four assists and James Mantione had one goal and three assists. 1. St. John’s College High (Md.) 8-0

St. John’s defeated Georgetown Prep (Md.) 13-9 in the GEICO Summer Series semifinal Sunday. The Cadets never trailed. Richard Checo led a strong defensive effort with seven caused turnovers and nine ground balls to help offset a faceoff disadvantage. Caleb Fyock made 16 saves, and Gavin Kelly scored a game-high five goals, while Jon-Luke Duley had a breakout game with a hat trick. Duley came into the game with six goals all season. Chase Cavalier had two assists. St. John’s also rolled by Good Counsel (Md.) 14-4. Ryan Duenkel scored twice and had a game-high four assists, Kelly tallied four goals, Mac Haley registered four points on two goals and two assists, Luke Rhoa and Noah Hall put in two goals apiece, Chase Cavalier added three assists and Paul Garza provided two assists. 2. Georgetown Prep (D.C.), 12-2

The Hoyas held down Bullis (Md.) 6-2 in the IAC championship game, claiming their first title since 2014. It was their 10th straight win and second time beating Bullis in three meetings. Will Angrick and Michael Ridgway scored two goals each, and Colin Burns, Dylan Hsu and Zach Whittier added one goal apiece. Peter Flannery made 14 saves to lead an impressive defensive effort in which the Hoyas held the Bulldogs to their lowest offensive production since 2009. In the GEICO Summer Series on Sunday, Prep lost 13-9 to St. John’s College High. Mac Eldridge won 22 of 26 faceoffs, and Burns scored four goals, but the Hoyas never tied the score after trailing 3-0. Ridgway finished with a pair of goals and Flannery made 10 saves. Previous: 1

3. Boys' Latin (Md.), 10-4

The Lakers’ season is over after winning the MIAA-A championship with three straight one-goal wins during the playoffs. Their title run enabled them to avenge three of their four losses on the season — to Loyola Blakefield, McDonogh and Archbishop Spalding. They also earned a non-league win over perennially strong Haverford (Pa.) to open the season. Previous: 3

4. McDonogh (Md.), 11-1         

The Eagles went unbeaten through the MIAA-A regular season, but their run fell short in the playoff semifinals. They were dominant through the regular season with only two wins coming by fewer than three goals. McDonogh averaged 13.4 goals per game and allowed just 8.2 goals per game. Previous: 4

5. Malvern Prep (Pa.), 19-2

Malvern’s season is done after winning the Inter-Ac championship. Eric Spanos was named Most Valuable Player in the Inter-Ac. Teammates joining him on the All-League team were defenseman Jake Brownley, long-stick middie Mike Buono, midfielders Cooper Frankheier and Nick Potemski, and attackmen Colin McGill and Will Peden. 6. Archbishop Spalding (Md.), 12-3

The Cavaliers placed second in the MIAA-A regular season and reached the tournament championship game, where they fell to Boys’ Latin. They scored a league-high 182 goals. Spalding picked up a big early season win over Malvern Prep (Pa.) before an impressive MIAA season that included a first-ever win over Calvert Hall since joining the A Conference in 2005. 7. Summit (N.J.), 12-0

The Hilltoppers edged Ridgewood (N.J.) 6-5 on Thursday. Jimmy Persche’s two goals led the offense, and Luke DiNola had three assists. Colin Beatty and John Murray each had one goal and one assist. Will O’Connell made 12 saves in goal. In a 10-2 win over Pope John on Saturday, Jake Rainero won nine of 11 faceoffs, Dylan Sebastian had seven points on three goals and four assists, DiNola scored twice and assisted on two other goals, and Michael Bonomo posted two goals and an assist. 8. Bullis (D.C.), 8-4       

Bullis contained the Georgetown Prep offense but could not get its own offense on track en route to a 6-2 loss in the IAC championship on May 25. Jack Fracyon made 14 saves in goal, Ben Jose and Maliik Wood scored one goal apiece and Anthony Rinaldi recorded an assist. Bullis is scheduled to play DeMatha (Md.) in the quarterfinals of the IAC vs. WCAC Challenge on Thursday. Previous: 9

9. Don Bosco (N.J.), 13-0

Bosco cruised by Northern Highlands (N.J.) 15-3 to claim the Bergen County tournament championship. It was Bosco’s first county title since 2013. Robert Simone won eight of 10 faceoffs, and Connor Gerlach won seven of nine faceoffs to set the tone. Koleton Marquis led the offense with six points on four goals and two assists, Mark Marino added four goals and an assist, Connor Gorman had a goal and three assists and Mason Carfello supplied two goals and two assists. Kai Dimaculangan made eight saves. Marquis and Gorman also both had six points apiece in a 11-4 win over Pope John (N.J.) on Thursday. Carfello scored four goals. Previous: 10

10. DeMatha (Md.), 6-1

Dakota Eierman scored three goals and added three assists to lead the Stags to a 10-9 win over Gonzaga on Thursday. Jordan Galloway recorded a hat trick, Graham Parker had a pair of goals and Dylan McKelvy and Aidan Stair scored one goal apiece. Jayden Hardnett and Dylan Hendrix each had one assist. DeMatha’s lone loss this year came against St. John’s. DeMatha is scheduled to play Bullis in the quarterfinals of the IAC vs. WCAC Challenge on Thursday. Previous: NR

1. Dallas Jesuit (Texas), 12-2

The Rangers clinched a state championship on May 9 by defeating Highland Park (Texas) 10-8 after being deadlocked at 5 at halftime. Senior Curran Rose, who had four goals in the state championship game, led Dallas Jesuit with 31 goals. Dallas Jesuit had a month of its season interrupted early in the year but showed no rust in collecting notable wins over Episcopal Dallas (Texas) and Louisville Trinity (Ky.). The Rangers split with Highland Park in two regular-season meetings, and their other loss was to nationally ranked Culver Academy (Ind.). Previous: 1

2. St. Andrew’s (Fla.), 16-0

The Scots won a Florida Class 1A title on May 8 by defeating St. Edward’s (Fla.) 13-5, helping legendary coach Tony Seaman to his first championship with St. Andrew’s. Sophomore Jack Schulte had a team-leading 40 goals, and freshman Kurt Schwarz had 24 assists this season. Previous: 2

3. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 17-0

The Crusaders completed an unbeaten season with a state title on March 26, defeating Hough (N.C.) 14-5. Bryce Wojnovich, a Jacksonville recruit, was named the state championship game MVP for his five-goal performance. Junior Caden Zadell led Cardinal Gibbons with 42 goals this season. Previous: 3

4. Blessed Trinity (Ga.), 25-0

The Titans concluded a perfect season with a 12-8 state championship game victory over Pace Academy (Ga.) on Saturday, propelled by two early goals from Riley Sullivan. Blessed Trinity narrowly advanced to the championship after topping Westminster (Ga.) 11-10. Previous: 4

5. Jupiter (Fla.), 18-1

The seniors ended their last season at Jupiter the same way they ended their first season — as state champions. The Warriors won the Florida Class 2A title on May 8 by defeating Winter Park (Fla.) 12-8. Lafayette recruit Max Sanderson led Jupiter with 71 goals. Junior Trace Hogan had 35 assists in addition to 49 goals. Previous: 5

6. Highland Park (Texas), 14-3

The Highlanders came a game shy of winning a state championship, falling to Dallas Jesuit 10-8 on May 9 after holding a 6-5 lead early in the second half. Highland Park had regular season wins over Dallas Jesuit (splitting games) and Westlake (Texas). Previous: 6

7. Louisville St. Xavier (Ky.), 18-3

The Tigers completed a state championship run by topping Trinity (Ky.) 17-8, marking St. Xavier’s third straight state title. Hillis Burns scored five times in the state final. St. Xavier advanced to the title game by defeating Eastern (Ky.) 15-10. Previous 9

8. Ponte Vedra (Fla.), 15-1

The Sharks’ season concluded in a shocking overtime playoff loss to Creekside (Fla.). Maddox Johnson led Ponte Vedra with 49 goals, while Jack Reed led the squad in assists with 20. Previous: 7

9. Middle Creek (N.C.), 12-1

The Mustangs’ season came to an end March 17, losing to eventual state champion Cardinal Gibbons 12-7. Eight Mustangs tallied double figures in goals this year, led by junior Tate Jones, who had 36. Charlie Riesett won more than 90 percent of faceoffs. Previous: 8

10. St. Edward’s (Fla.), 16-5

The Pirates’ run in the state tournament came to an end just short of a title on May 8. St. Edward’s lost to St. Andrew’s (Fla.) 13-5 in the state final. Junior Oscar Lindenthal led St. Edward’s with 66 goals but was held scoreless in the championship game. Senior Danny Richmond had 62 assists. Previous: 10

Midwest Top 10

1. Culver Academy (Ind.), 14-2

The Eagles trailed for much of Sunday’s GEICO Nationals semifinal against Taft (Conn.) but hung around all night in a 10-8 loss. Culver went undefeated against the Midwest this year, including wins over Cleveland St. Ignatius, Cincinnati St. Xavier and Upper Arlington out of the Buckeye State and also had impressive victories over IMG National (Fla.), St. John’s (D.C.) and Dallas Jesuit (Texas). 2. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 20-1

The Golden Bears had their first close game of the postseason in their Region 3 title match, edging St. Charles (Ohio) 11-9. With Upper Arlington’s lead cut to a single goal in the final minute, Maryland commit Shea Keethler won a pivotal faceoff leading to a goal from Chris Mazzaferri that not only clinched the game but also a hat trick. 3. New Trier (Ill.), 14-0

The Trevians continue to flourish behind a devastating defense, not allowing double-digit goals in a game all season. Most recently, New Trier held Maine South (Ill.) to two goals and Glenbrook North to four. Previous: 3

4. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 11-1

The Ramblers put up a 3-0 week, outscoring in-state foes Grayslake North, Glenbard West and Mount Carmel by a combined margin of 46-7. They have now won four straight since an overtime loss to New Trier on May 18. Previous: 4

5. Brother Rice (Mich.), 14-2

Since falling to Upper Arlington on the first day of May, Brother Rice has won six straight, allowing just 13 goals over that stretch, including three shutouts. They outscored last week’s two opponents 58-0. Previous: 5

6. Dublin Jerome (Ohio), 20-2

Since being held to four goals by Upper Arlington in the MSLCA championship game, Dublin Jerome has averaged 21.25 goals. The Celtics’ four-game win streak includes a 21-12 victory over rival Dublin Coffman in the Region 1 championship, avenging a regional title game loss to the Shamrocks two years ago after not having a chance to do so during the pandemic-canceled season. 7. St. Ignatius (Ohio), 13-5

Following back-to-back losses to Upper Arlington and Hudson (Ohio), the Wildcats have won six straight games, including avenging that earlier loss to the Explorers with an 8-6 victory in the Region 2 championship game. The victory included junior Andrew Wynocker scoring a pair of early goals to set St. Ignatius’ single-season record at 72 goals, along with Logan Rechin proving quite formidable in net. Previous: NR

8. Hamilton Southeastern (Ind.), 17-2

Since falling to Dublin Jerome in mid-April, the Royals have won 12 straight, including a dominant performance in the IHSLA quarterfinals against Chesterton. In that victory, HSE forced 26 turnovers, won the ground ball count 43-14 and got a pair of hat tricks from Ryan Kemp (five goals, one assist) and EJ Reichert (three goals). Previous: 8

9. Hartland (Mich.), 19-1

Since dropping their third game of the season to Brother Rice, the Eagles haven’t lost. They even got road wins over strong in-state foes Brighton and East Grand Rapids in that stretch. That sets up an intriguing regional final against Brighton, which Hartland edged 16-10 back on May 12. Previous: 9

10. Forest Hills Central (Mich.), 14-3

The Rangers have compiled nine straight wins since falling to Brother Rice in late April. Up next for FHC is a Region 12 title game against East Lansing. Previous: 10

1. St. Ignatius Prep (Calif.), 13-0

The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season with a pair of wins over Menlo (Calif.) and Sacred Heart Cathedral (Calif.) last week, outscoring their opponents 24-7. They now head to the WCAL playoffs, with a bye into the semifinals Thursday, vying for one of two automatic qualifying berths into the CIF Central Coast Section playoffs. Previous: 1

2. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 11-2

The top-seeded Falcons beat eighth-seeded La Jolla (Calif.) 18-5 in the CIF San Diego Open Division quarterfinals. They face San Marcos (Calif.) in the semifinals Wednesday. Torrey Pines beat San Marcos 16-5 back on May 7. San Marcos edged Grossmont (Calif.) 9-8 in overtime in their quarterfinal matchup, marking its third straight overtime game. Previous: 2

3. Loyola Los Angeles (Calif.), 17-1

Aiden Lee scored five goals and Owen Gaffney added a hat trick as the top-seeded Cubs cruised to a 16-2 win over Santa Margarita Catholic (Calif.) in the second round of the CIF Southern Section-Ford Division I playoffs. They now face Palos Verdes (Calif.) in the quarterfinals Tuesday. Previous: 3

4. Corona del Mar (Calif.), 13-3

The Sea Kings topped Agoura (Calif.) 15-9 to advance to the CIF Southern Section quarterfinals, where they will get a rematch Tuesday against a St. Margaret’s Episcopal (Calif.) team that beat them 9-8 in overtime April 23. In the second-round game against Agoura, Logan Ip led with four goals, two assists and two ground balls, Lucas Newton tallied three goals, three assists and three ground balls and Gavin Gossen added three goals and one assist. 5. Valor Christian (Colo.), 6-1

The Eagles have won three straight since dropping a narrow loss to Mountain Vista (Colo.) on May 14, including a big 10-7 win over former No. 6 Regis Jesuit (Colo.) on Friday. Jake Likes led all scorers with five goals, while Gunnar Fellows added three goals and one assist and goalkeeper Mitch Gutgsell made eight saves to seal the win. Previous: NR

6. Mater Dei (Calif.), 17-2

The Monarchs earned the first CIF playoff win in program history Friday, beating Crespi 18-6 in the second round of the CIF Southern Section playoffs. They led just 7-4 at halftime but turned up the heat in the second half to build a double-digit lead. Ten players scored in a balanced Mater Dei attack, led by sophomores Evan Curry and Triston Jewell, who pumped in four goals, and senior Tommy Bethel and sophomore Cole Crisostomo, who added two goals each. Lucas de la Paz went 20 for 25 on faceoffs (80 percent), and the defense held the opponent under double digits in scoring for the 11th straight game. Tyler Curry, Sean Bocan, Andrew Crosby and Tej Gadhavi led the defense in front of goalie Nick Colignon, who nabbed nine saves. Previous: 5

7. Regis Jesuit (Colo.), 5-1

The Raiders dropped their first loss to a talented Valor Christian team Saturday, just after earning a notable win over previous No. 7 Mountain Vista on May 25. Jack Ringhofer led Regis’ attack in the 13-12 victory, finishing with three goals and four assists, while Will McFadden added three goals and one assist and Logan White had two goals and two assists. Regis held an 11-7 advantage going into the fourth quarter and had to fight off a late rally. Jayden Warlum had 20 saves in goal. Previous: 6

8. Corner Canyon (Utah), 22-0

The Chargers capped a perfect season with the UHSAA/Mountain America Division A title, coming back from a halftime deficit to beat Park City (Utah) 20-13 in the final Saturday. Corner Canyon trailed 7-6 at halftime but outscored Park City 6-2 in the third quarter and ran away with it in the fourth. Eric Neilson led with six goals, three assists and four ground balls, and Mason Quick made a big impact as well with five goals and three assists. Junior goalkeeper Ayden Santi made 14 saves and allowed 10 goals. The Chargers beat Olympus (Utah) 17-3 in the semifinals. Previous: 8

9. De La Salle (Calif.), 12-1

The Spartans completed their season with a pair of dominant wins last week, helping them end on a five-game win streak following their only loss to St. Ignatius. They beat Dougherty Valley (Calif.) 29-2 on May 25 and ended with a 12-2 victory against California High. The CIF North Coast Section is not holding championships this season. Previous: 9

10. Lakeridge (Ore.), 9-2

The Pacers avenged one of their two regular-season losses in the game that mattered most, beating previously-ranked Jesuit Portland (Ore.) 11-8 in the Metro Area Tourney championship May22. Lakeridge trailed by two in the third quarter but outscored the Crusaders 7-4 down the stretch for the win in the de factor state championship game of the pandemic-shortened 2021 campaign. Jake Reichle won 11 of 14 faceoffs in the second half. Matt Wright, Nolan Lawler, Jude Cowie and Preston Stewart led the attack with two goals each. Previous: 10
