McDonogh meets Boys’ Latin (Md.) on Tuesday. McCabe Millon led McDonogh with four goals, and Dante Trader Jr. added two goals to account for most of the scoring. Zach Hayashi came up with some big possessions at the faceoff X. The Eagles stormed away from a 4-4 start to the fourth quarter with four straight goals. McDonogh had just completed its first perfect regular season since 2016 with a 14-7 win over Gilman on May 11. Jack Horrigan led the Eagles with four goals and Millon added a hat trick. Zach Whittier scored four goals with two assists to lead the Hoyas over St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes (Va.) 18-7 on Thursday. Will Angrick fired in three goals with one assist, and Patrick Fitzgerald also had four points on two goals and two assists. Hugh Mullane scored two goals. Ryan Schrier scored four goals and Michael Weisshaar pumped in three goals and added two assists as second-seeded Spalding advanced over seventh-seeded Severn (Md.) 14-7 in the MIAA-A quarterfinals Saturday. The Cavaliers jumped out to a 4-0 lead and ran away with the win. Spalding is set to play sixth-seeded and defending champion Calvert Hall on Tuesday. McGill pumped in five goals and added an assist, Nick Potemski scored four times and Peden had two goals and five assists in an 18-11 win over LaSalle College High (Pa.) on Wednesday. On May 11, McGill had six goals and two assists, and Potemski scored a pair of goals to go with three assists in a 14-9 win over Germantown Academy (Pa.). The Hilltoppers edged Delbarton (N.J.) 7-5 on Thursday to earn the NJILL-Fitch/Pitt Division title and end a three-game losing streak in the series. The Panthers eased by Bishop O’Connell (Va.) 15-2 on Wednesday behind the efforts of Rutgers commit Zach Walsh, who had three goals and two assists, and Tampa-bound Burke McFarlane, who scored four goals to go with two assists. Ethan Hodges, a Detroit Mercy commit, had a pair of goals, one assist, five ground balls and two caused turnovers. Lehigh commit Johnny Kidd won nine of 10 faceoffs. Coming off back-to-back games against Gonzaga and St. John’s College in which senior Boston University-bound goalie Will Barnes made a combined 41 saves, Paul VI was able to keep O’Connell largely out of its defensive end while building an early insurmountable lead. The Rangers clinched a state championship on May 9 by defeating Highland Park (Texas) 10-8 after being deadlocked at 5 at halftime. Senior Curran Rose, who had four goals in the state championship game, led Dallas Jesuit with 31 goals. Dallas Jesuit had a month of its season interrupted early in the year but showed no rust in collecting notable wins over Episcopal Dallas (Texas) and Louisville Trinity (Ky.). The Rangers split with Highland Park in two regular-season meetings, and their other loss was to nationally ranked Culver Academy (Ind.). Previous: 1

The Scots won a Florida Class 1A title on May 8 by defeating St. Edward’s (Fla.) 13-5, helping legendary coach Tony Seaman to his first championship with St. Andrew’s. Sophomore Jack Schulte had a team-leading 40 goals, and freshman Kurt Schwarz had 24 assists this season. Previous: 2

The Crusaders completed an unbeaten season with a state title on March 26, defeating Hough (N.C.) 14-5. Bryce Wojnovich, a Jacksonville recruit, was named the state championship game MVP for his five-goal performance. Junior Caden Zadell led Cardinal Gibbons with 42 goals this season. Previous: 3

The Titans concluded a perfect season with a 12-8 state championship game victory over Pace Academy (Ga.) on Saturday, propelled by two early goals from Riley Sullivan. Blessed Trinity narrowly advanced to the championship after topping Westminster (Ga.) 11-10. Previous: 4
5. Jupiter (Fla.), 18-1
The seniors ended their last season at Jupiter the same way they ended their first season — as state champions. The Warriors won the Florida Class 2A title on May 8 by defeating Winter Park (Fla.) 12-8. Lafayette recruit Max Sanderson led Jupiter with 71 goals. The Highlanders came a game shy of winning a state championship, falling to Dallas Jesuit 10-8 on May 9 after holding a 6-5 lead early in the second half. Highland Park had regular season wins over Dallas Jesuit (splitting games) and Westlake (Texas). Previous: 6
7. Louisville St. Xavier (Ky.), 18-3
The Tigers completed a state championship run by topping Trinity (Ky.) 17-8, marking St. Xavier’s third straight state title. Hillis Burns scored five times in the state final. St. Xavier advanced to the title game by defeating Eastern (Ky.) 15-10. Previous 9

The Pirates’ run in the state tournament came to an end just short of a title on May 8. St. Edward’s lost to St. Andrew’s (Fla.) 13-5 in the state final. The Golden Bears were off for the week after capturing the title in the top bracket at the MSLCA Tournament with a 14-8 win over Western Reserve Academy (Ohio) and a 12-4 victory over Dublin Jerome (Ohio). Upper Arlington’s lone loss this season is to top-ranked Culver. Previous: 2
3. New Trier (Ill.), 9-0
Coach Tom Herrala was especially pleased with his defense after the Trevians allowed just five goals combined in a pair of in-state wins over Glenbrook North (10-4) and Evanston (13-1). Leading the way was New Trier goalkeeper Brian Kaskey, with Vinny Flannagan, Miles Fowkes and Tyler Nolan in front of him. Previous: 3

The Warriors had a dominant week as well, outscoring Cranbrook (Mich.) and Orchard Lake St. Mary’s (Mich.) by a combined 41-4 margin. Brother Rice is now in the midst of a particularly challenging two-game stretch in which East Grand Rapids (Mich.) and Rockford (Mich.) pay a visit to Bloomfield Hills. Previous: 5

The Celtics have had a week off since suffering their second loss of the season in the MSLCA tournament title game against Upper Arlington. The day before, Dublin Jerome avenged its only other loss of 2021, taking down Hudson (Ohio) 14-11 while picking up an impressive road win over Springboro (Ohio) earlier in the week. Previous: 6

The Explorers entered the postseason in fine form with a 17-2 victory over Brecksville-Broadview Heights (Ohio). Hudson earned the top seed in Region 2, thus earning a first-round bye and taking on No. 14 Cleveland Heights (Ohio) on Tuesday. The Royals had a banner week, defeating Indiana foes Westfield and St. Joseph South Bend by a combined margin of 31-2, then taking to the road and defeating one of Ohio’s top programs, St. Xavier, in overtime. Long-stick middie Ty DeSplinter caused a turnover that led to a game-winning goal for Ryan Kemp, who scored three of his team’s eight goals and had a hat trick earlier in the week against Westfield. Since losing on the road to Brother Rice on April 10, the Eagles have won 14 straight games. This past week included a couple of particularly impressive victories as Hartland won games at Brighton (Mich.), 16-10, and East Grand Rapids (Mich.) 14-9. Previous: 10
10. Forest Hills Central (Mich.), 11-3
After a 5-3 start, with all three losses coming to teams ranked in the top 10 regionally, the Rangers have won six straight. Forest Hills Central certainly has shown a taste for the clutch, with an overtime triumph at East Grand Rapids and a one-goal victory at Detroit Country Day (Mich.). The Cubs have won 12 straight since an 11-9 defeat against St. Margaret’s on April 9. In their lone game last week, they rolled to a 18-5 win over St. Francis (Calif.), as Matteo Silvestri, Aidan Lee, Owen Gaffney and Robert Roges scored 10 of the 18 goals. In the last three games, that quartet has combined for 26 of our 40 total goals. The Cubs also own notable victories against ranked Mater Dei (Calif.) and Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.). Previous: 7

The Monarchs claimed their first Trinity League title on Saturday with a 20-1 win over defending league champions Santa Margarita (Calif.). Sophomore Ryan Stiller led the attack with four goals, but the offense showed its depth with nine other players finding the back of the net while defense made a quiet day for goalkeeper Nick Colignon. Mater Dei was undefeated in league play, also adding a 19-2 win over Servite on Senior Night with four graduating players recognized: Kyle Waterman, Dominic Galuppo, Tyler Curry and Tommy Bethel. Bethel added some icing to his celebratory cake, leading Mater Dei’s scoring with three goals and an assist. Junior Nate Chu and sophomore Evan Curry each added three goals as well, and Lucas de la Paz increased his impressive faceoff percentage (87 percent for the season) by winning 15 of 16 faceoffs. The Chargers were leading just 7-5 at halftime against Lone Peak (Utah) on May 11 but broke open the game in the second half for an 18-11 win. The Raiders shut out Highlands Ranch (Colo.) 17-0 in their lone game of the week. Jack Ringhofer led the attack with eight points on three goals and five assists, while Fletcher Sullivan scored a team-high four goals. Joey Garcia had 19 saves in goal to help the Knights to a 9-8 win over former No. 3 St. Margaret’s on May 11, a result that lifted them back into the top 10. Thomas Power led Cherry Creek with four goals and two assists in the lone game last week, an 11-6 win over Cheyenne Mountain (Colo.). The Bruins’ game against Regis Jesuit originally scheduled for last week was moved to June 7, which means they will have to wait a little longer for the marquee matchup that could serve as an unofficial state championship. The Tartans’ 10-game win streak came to an end last week with a pair of losses. They dropped a narrow 9-8 decision against Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.) before unraveling against Torrey Pines. In the loss to Foothill, St. Margaret’s went into the fourth quarter trailing 8-4 after being held scoreless over the second and third periods. Their four-goal rally just fell short. Previous: 3
