Three new teams — Unionville (Pa.), Skaneateles (N.Y.), Glenelg Country (Md.), Loyola Academy (Ill.), Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.) and Garnet Valley (Pa.) — have entered the fray of the Nike / USA Lacrosse High School Girls’ National Top 25.

As champions continue to be crowned across the country, there figures to be less movement in the national ranking. For this week, though, these newcomers will celebrate the chance to be considered among the nation’s best.

1. Northport (N.Y.), 11-0

Teams that score in bunches and put up big numbers on attack are exciting. And yes, Northport does that, but what’s most impressive about the undefeated Tigers is their stout defense. Northport, which averages just 4.8 goals against, showed some defensive prowess last week in a 12-7 win at Smithtown East (N.Y.). Kaylie Mackiewicz and Isabella Germani scored four goals apiece, and Megan Morris made four saves. Previous: 1

2. New Canaan (Conn.), 18-0

New Canaan coach Kristin Woods proudly proclaimed “the curse of the FCIAC is over” after the Rams defeated Darien (Conn.) 7-4 on Saturday to collect their first FCIAC championship since 1993. They were seven-time runners-up until taking the championship picture in the rain at Dunning Field. Dillyn Patten scored three goals and earned MVP honors. Quinn McKiernan had a goal and three assists, and Claire Mahoney made five saves. New Canaan is the top seed in the CIAC Class L tournament and meets Ridgefield in the first round. Previous: 2

3. Manhasset (N.Y.), 10-1

Manhasset avenged its lone loss this year in a big way, beating Wantagh (N.Y.) 20-9 Friday. Alexis Morton had five goals and three assists, Emma LoPinto and Grace Gately both recorded four goals and one assist and Ashley Newman added four goals in the win. Previous: 3

4. St. Anthony’s (N.Y.), 10-0

The Friars closed out the regular season with a 15-7 win over Sacred Heart (N.Y.). Ava Biancardi had four goals and two assists, Abbey LoCascio contributed three goals and three assists, Tanner Scarola had three goals and two assists and Kat McAteer added one goal and two assists. St. Anthony’s now takes on St. John the Baptist (N.Y.) in the CHSAA semifinals. Previous: 4

5. Bayport-Blue Point (N.Y.), 11-0

After a 13-7 win at Rocky Point (N.Y.), Bayport-Blue Point added an 18-5 victory at West Islip (N.Y.). Alex Fusco had a six-pack of goals to lead the Phantoms. Haydin Eisfeld tallied two goals and an assist, Maddigan Miller and Julia Fusco scored two apiece, Natalee Frabizio had one goal and four assists and Mairead Kelly chipped in a goal and two assists. 6. Darien (Conn.), 14-3

All three Darien defeats this season have come to the newly minted FCIAC champions at New Canaan, the latest coming in that tournament’s final game. Shea Dolce made 10 saves, and Ryan Hapgood scored a pair of goals to lead the Blue Wave, who played a man down for the final 22:05 after four yellow cards. Darien, the fourth seed in the CIAC Class L tournament, host Staples in the first round. Previous: 6

7. Garden City (N.Y.), 5-2

There were early hiccups with two losses in their first three games, but the Trojans are now hitting their stride with six straight wins. That includes a 14-7 victory over a solid South Side (N.Y.) squad. Sydney Pappas scored a game-high six goals, Carla Curth registered three goals and two assists, Meghan Rode had three goals and one assist. Previous: 7

8. Sayville (N.Y.), 11-1

What a week for the Golden Eagles, who beat Shoreham-Wading River (N.Y.) 8-7, Mount Sinai (N.Y.) 11-7 and Kings Park (N.Y.) in a span of five days. Meg McLaughlin led with four goals and two assists, Brooke Hoss tallied four goals, Erin Schaefer had three goals and two assists, Taylor Hoss contributed two goals and four assists and Bella Graziano added two goals and two assists against Kings Park. Previous: 8

9. Eastport-South Manor (N.Y.), 11-2

After two losses by a combined four goals in their first four games, Eastport-South Manor has reeled off nine straight wins, including an 11-3 victory over Comsewogue (N.Y.). Katie McCormick scored a game-high five goals, Jessica Morrisroe and Marisa Tancredi had two goals and one assist apiece and Katie Vahle made five saves to lead the way. Previous: NR

10. Baldwinsville (N.Y.), 11-2

The Bees avenged an early season loss at Cicero-North Syracuse (N.Y.) and then some, winning back-to-back games over the Northstars, including an 18-15 win Saturday. Emma Gebhardt led the way offensively with five goals and two assists, Grace Hollenbeck had three goals and one assist and Olivia Muscolino, Sophia Muscolino and Tiffany Natoli each scored three goals. Mid-Atlantic Top 10

1. St. Paul's (Md.), 15-1

The Gators’ season is done after winning the IAAM championship. The title followed a promising winter in which St. Paul’s won the Indoor National Championship. Christina Gagnon led the Gators with 60 points on 36 goals and 24 assists. Caitlin McElwee finished with a team-high 48 goals and had five assists. Lauren Steer scored 23 goals and added 19 assists, while Frannie Hahn was just behind with 40 points on 30 goals and 10 assists. Paris Colgain was the team’s top defender, finishing with seven interceptions while marking opponent’s top attackers. Josie Hahn helped at both ends of the field with 35 ground balls and 25 goals. 2. McDonogh (Md.), 13-3

The Eagles finished as the IAAM runners up. Kori Edmondson is a junior who will return after a huge season with 59 goals, 10 assists, 54 draw controls and 10 caused turnovers. Caroline Godine scored 25 goals, tallied 20 assists and added five caused turnovers. Kemper Robinson finished with 22 goals, eight assists, 35 draws and 15 caused turnovers. Previous: 3

3. Stone Ridge (Md.), 8-2

Stone Ridge beat St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes (Va.) 8-7 on Wednesday and lost to the Saints 8-7 on Thursday. Grace Muldoon had seven goals between the two games, and sister Ellie Muldoon had two goals and six ground balls total in the pair of games. Previous: 2

4. Georgetown Visitation (D.C.), 4-2     

The Cubs’ season concluded after a limited schedule of just six games. It began with them knocking off St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes twice and losing twice to Stone Ridge. They also edged perennial power Bishop Ireton (Va.) during a restrictive schedule. Sally Zinser paced the offense with 13 goals and 11 assists on the year, while Molly McGuckin scored 12 goals and won 16 draw controls and Molly Finlay also had a dozen goals to go with five assists. Allison Baldwin keyed the defense with 12 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Previous: 6

5. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (Va.), 10-3

The Saints, coming off their VISAA championship, split a pair of games with Stone Ridge last week, losing the first game 8-7 on Wednesday before rebounding to win the rematch 8-7 the following day. Nicole Cruthird’s 8-meter goal with three minutes left gave the Saints their win. Cruthird also secured seven draw controls. Annabel Frist scored twice and had five draws. Emmy Pascal and Brooke Kurtz each had two goals, and Kurtz added an assist. Iman Haddad stopped six shots in the win. In the loss to Stone Ridge, Frist had a hat trick with seven draws, Cruthird picked up four ground balls, and Morgan Lewis led the defensive effort with two caused turnovers to go along with four ground balls. 6. Oak Knoll (N.J.), 16-1

Oak Knoll remained on a roll with a 17-13 win over Montclair (N.J.) on Thursday that followed decisive wins of 14-2 over Mountain Lakes (N.J.) and 18-11 over Westfield. Lily Ramsey finished with seven points on five goals and two assists in the win over Montclair, while Annika Spoor led the team in assists with three. Against Mountain Lakes, Colleen Quinn had a hat trick and added two assists, and Sara Rogers posted a game-high four assists. Quinn’s seven points in the win over Westfield keyed the offense, which also received a boost from Claire Adelhelm’s four assist and Ramsey’s four goals. Previous: 5

7. Notre Dame Prep (Md.), 13-2

Notre Dame finished as an IAAM semifinalist and the lone team to defeat St. Paul’s (Md.) this season. Nancy Halleron concluded the year with 40 goals, 16 assists and 125 draw controls. Halley Koras fired in 28 goals with a team-high 19 assists, and Annie Marshall’s 21 goals and eight assists gave the Blazers a reliable third weapon, while Kailey Pelkey scored 16 goals and added 11 assists. Olivia Rockstroh led the defensive end with 19 caused turnovers, 34 ground balls and 40 successful clears. Previous: 8

8. Unionville (Pa.), 20-2

Fifth-seeded Unionville upended third-seeded Garnet Valley 9-3 for the District 1 AAA championship on Friday. It’s the Longhorns’ first district crown since 1992. Garnet Valley had defeated Unionville in the regular season two weeks earlier. Anna Brown scored five goals and had one assist, and Mattie Robitzer made 10 saves in the title game. Brown also had seven goals, and Robitzer made 12 saves in a 13-9 upset of top-seeded and unbeaten Conestoga in the district semifinals May 25. Maddie Passarello and Riley Glackin scored two goals apiece. Glackin and Shannon Garvey each had two assists. Unionville also handed fourth-seeded Owen J. 9. Chatham (N.J.), 15-1

Chatham overtook Morristown (N.J.) 11-6 on May 24. Ashley Kiernan scored four goals and had two assists, Olivia Garman tallied a pair of goals, and Carly Frohnapfel added two assists. Juliette deVarenne made eight saves. The Cougars also defeated Ridge (N.J.) 17-4 on Wednesday behind five points apiece from Kiernan and Sophie Straka. Haley Riabov scored a pair of goals, and Sophia Claps added a pair of assists. The Cougars are scheduled to play Roxbury in the first round of the North Jersey Group 3 state tournament on Tuesday.  Previous: 9

1. Milton (Ga.), 21-0

The Eagles concluded the 2021 campaign with their fourth straight state title, beating West Forsyth (Ga.) 13-8 on Saturday in the final. The Eagles, who have now won 14 of the last 16 championships awarded, advanced to the finals by topping Walton (Ga.) 17-3 on May 11. USC recruit Maddie Dora had 20 goals and 12 assists during the four-game playoff run. Brie Catts, Skylar Carrasquillo and Haly Hawks all contributed hat tricks in the state final, while Tori Mellinger stopped 10 shots. Previous: 1

2. American Heritage-Delray (Fla.), 16-1

The Stallions defeated Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) 13-11 to capture an FHSAA Class 1A championship on May 8. American Heritage-Delray finished the season on an 11-game winning streak. Freshman Brooke Goldstein had a team-leading 52 goals, while junior Casey Roberts led with 32 assists. American Heritage-Delray’s only loss was a regular-season defeat against Lake Highland Prep. 3. Lake Highland Prep (Fla.), 20-1

The Highlanders bid for a perfect season and state title came to a close on May 8 by losing to American-Heritage Delray 13-11 in the championship game. Juniors Jacqueline Jaskiewicz and Lauren Pittman led Lake Highland with 47 goals each. Syracuse recruit Olivia Adamson had a team-leading 27 assists to add to her 40-goal contribution. Previous: 3

4. East Chapel Hill (N.C), 16-2

The Wildcats won a state championship after they pulled off a pair of stunning upsets, first defeating Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.) 19-12 on March 22 in the state quarterfinals, then defeating Weddington (N.C.) 14-8 on March 27. Talia Zuco scored five times in the championship game. Sophie Halus and Molly Reed tied as the team’s scoring leaders with 56 goals each. Previous: 4

5. Cardinal Gibbons (N.C.), 13-1

Following a perfect regular season, the Crusaders were upset in the state quarterfinals on March 22 against East Chapel Hill. Harvard recruit Caroline Mullahy racked up 40 goals and 77 assists in just 14 games. Sophomore Gracie Mullahy tallied 36 goals and 28 assists. Previous: 5

6. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.), 13-1

The Raiders won the FHSAA Class 2A state title by defeating Vero Beach (Fla.) 17-9 on May 8. St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) only had one loss, to Class 1A runner up Lake Highland Prep (Fla.). Navy recruit Ava Yovino led the team in both goals (45) and assists (28) to go along with a team-leading 49 ground balls and 21 draws. Peri Reigner also played a key role for St. Thomas Aquinas with 39 goals and 17 assists. Previous: 6

7. Weddington, (N.C.), 17-2

The Warriors came one game short of winning a state title, losing 14-8 to East Chapel Hill on March 27. Senior Jordyn Case (Stanford) scored 82 goals and added 53 assists to close out her stellar high school career. Virginia Tech recruit Kendal Williams added 70 goals to complete her senior season. 8. Franklin (Tenn.), 18-0

The Admirals concluded a perfect season with a 14-12 win over Ravenwood (Tenn.) in the state championship game Sunday. Sophomore Aliya Polisky led Franklin with six goals, while senior Josie Ward scored five times to give her 110 goals for the season. Franklin advanced to the championship game by defeating Seymore (Tenn.) 20-4. Ward scored seven times while Gracie McCoy had five goals. Previous: 9

9. Hockaday (Texas), 12-2

The Daisies were crowned Texas Division I champions by defeating Southlake (Texas) 14-11 on May 9. The season was highlighted by wins over Episcopal School Dallas (Texas) and Highland Park (Texas). Previous: 8

10. Vero Beach (Fla.), 16-2

Vero Beach’s quest for a state title came just short, falling to St. Thomas Aquinas 17-9 in the final. Sophomore Alexa Vega led the squad with 56 goals, while senior Emily Adams led with 49 assists on top of her 38 goals. Previous: 10

Midwest Top 10

1. Loyola Academy (Ill.), 18-0

The Ramblers had some huge performances this past week, as Ellie Lazzaretto (Duke) tallied seven goals and Sloan Trapp (Butler) had four more in an 18-1 win over Lyons Township (Ill.), and Caroline Smith (Butler) collected 15 saves in a 12-7 victory at Hinsdale Central (Ill.). Lazzaretto scored four-plus goals in wins over Lyons Township, Hinsdale Central and Evanston, totaling 16 goals. Previous: 1

2. New Trier (Ill.), 15-2

The Trevians had their cancer awareness game this past week against Oak Park-River Forest (Ill.), raising money for Cal’s Angels. Per coach Peter Collins, the game was particularly meaningful to senior manager Lindsey Sibell, who is battling bone cancer, as well as assistant coach Kristen Murray, who beat breast cancer, and OPRF coach James Borja, whose mother died of breast cancer. New Trier’s only two losses are to top-ranked Loyola Academy, but the team faces another big test Tuesday at Hinsdale Central. Previous: 2

3. Hinsdale Central (Ill.), 11-3

The Red Devils’ only three losses have come against Loyola Academy and New Trier. Hinsdale Central bounced back from its most recent loss to the Ramblers by edging St. Ignatius (Ill.) 12-9. The Red Devils have stood out for their balance with nine players scoring double-digit goals through 10 games. Previous: 4

4. Edina (Minn.), 12-0

Tied at six at the half against Blake (Minn.), Edina broke loose in a 12-3 second half for an 18-9 win to remain undefeated. Haley Reeck (eight goals) and Cordelia Flemming (seven goals) were outstanding as usual, combining for 15 goals. Previous: 5

5. East Grand Rapids (Mich.), 19-2

Since a 21-10 loss to Loyola Academy in early May, EGR has won six straight, starting with three tight wins over Forest Hills Northern/Eastern (Mich.), Rockford (Mich.) and Brighton (Mich.). Recently, the Pioneers have won with significantly less stress with back-to-back 22-4 wins over Grand Rapids Christian (Mich.) and Lowell (Mich.). Previous: 6

6. Dublin Coffman (Ohio), 16-5

The Shamrocks pulled off arguably the biggest win of the season in Buckeye State girls lacrosse, handing five-time defending champion Upper Arlington its first postseason loss since the Ohio High School Athletic Association began sponsoring lacrosse in 2016-17. Sophomores Bailey Morris and Kate Tyack each recorded hat tricks to lead the way for Dublin Coffman. Previous: NR

7. Upper Arlington (Ohio), 20-1

One regional championship loss shouldn’t define the Golden Bears’ season, as they toppled top team after top team throughout the 2021 campaign. Upper Arlington’s impressive resume included in-state road wins over Medina (15-10), Thomas Worthington (16-11), New Albany (7-3), Mason (15-7) and Hudson (17-9). Previous: 3

8. Carmel (Ind.), 14-2

The Greyhounds captured a sectional title May 17 with a 14-4 victory over Penn (Ind.), led by six goals from Maddie McGarty and another hat trick from Hannah Kim. Carmel will take on rival Cathedral (Ind.) in a June 3 state semifinal. Previous: 7

9. Prior Lake (Minn.), 12-1

The Lakers ended the regular season with a 17-10 win over Rosemount (Minn.) and a 12-game win streak. Mackenzie Salentre led Prior Lake with seven goals while Jade Haugen (three goals, two assists) and Payton Bloedow (four goals) also tallied hat tricks for the Lakers. Previous: 8

T10. Rockford (Mich.), 11-4

The Rams have a big test facing Forest Hills Northern/Eastern for the third time Wednesday. The BirdDogs won the first game by eight goals, while Rockford rallied to take the rematch by two. The Rams enter the rubber game, which happens to be a Region 1 semifinal, on a four-game win streak. Previous: 9

T10. New Albany (Ohio), 19-3

The Eagles’ lengthy winning streak was tested, but New Albany edged both Olentangy Liberty 9-8 and Medina 7-5 to earn a trip to states. Trailing Liberty in the final minute, Katie Kaucheck delivered both the game-tying and game-winning goals to finish with a hat trick, then had another three goals against Medina. Previous: 10

West Top 10

1. Colorado Academy (Colo.), 7-0

The Mustangs added two lopsided wins last week, including a 21-3 win over Kent Denver (Colo.) in which senior Jessie Bakes and freshman Charlotte Corkins each tallied four goals and one assist. Colorado has 121 goals, 59 assists and 24 goals against as a team. Bakes leads with 27 goals and 20 draw controls, while Corkins adds 13 goals, 16 assists, 15 ground balls and 19 draw controls. Senior Katharine Merrifield also has been all over the place with 17 goals, five assists, nine caused turnovers and 11 draw controls, and Maya Kendall has chipped in 16 goals, eight assists and 15 draw controls. Freshman Zoe Martin has been impressive with 15 goals, two assists and 15 ground balls, and the defense has been anchored by seniors Maya Rutherford (seven caused turnovers) and Marin Bomgaars (nine caused turnovers). 2. Scripps Ranch (Calif.), 15-0

The Falcons beat Cathedral Catholic (Calif.) for a second straight game Thursday, this time beating the Dons 16-2 in the quarterfinals of the CIF San Diego Open division tournament, as Ell Brislin led with five goals and one assist. Kayden Williamson added three goals, Leiden Huber chipped in two goals, and Ally Richardson-Pepper made nine saves with one goal allowed. Top-seeded Scripps Ranch advances to face fifth-seeded Poway in the semifinals Tuesday, and the final is set for Saturday. Previous: 2

3. Foothill-Santa Ana (Calif.), 15-0

Elena Torres racked up seven goals and two assists as the Knights beat JSerra Catholic (Calif.) 19-9 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division I tournament Saturday. Taylor Pluma tallied three goals and three assists, and Zoey Stephens led the team in ground balls with 10. Foothill plays Newport Harbor in the quarterfinals Wednesday. Previous: 3

4. San Ramon Valley (Calif.), 12-0

The Wolves completed their season, and the CIF North Coast Section will not be holding championships this year. Alannah Scott led SRV with 48 goals and eight assists, and Lauren Iorio added 33 goals and 20 assists. CoCo Wong won 73.7 percent of the draws she took and also tallied 25 goals and 24 assists. 5. Mercer Island (Wash.), 7-0

The Islanders had a three-win week in which they outscored their opponents 50-10. Molly Brodsky registered 11 goals and one assist over the three games, including five goals in a 17-3 victory against Lakeside (Wash.). Hannah Tiscornia finished with seven goals and three assists, and Emma Brodsky and Annabelle Gersch each had six goals and four assists for the week. Previous: 5

6. Fairview (Colo.), 7-0

Sophomore Cami Johnson scored four goals and assisted three others, as the Knights rolled to an 18-5 win against Grandview (Colo.) on Wednesday in their lone game of the week. Isabella Bloomquist added three goals and two assists. Previous: 6

7. La Jolla (Calif.), 12-3

The second-seeded Vikings opened the CIF San Diego Section Open Division playoffs with a 17-7 win over La Costa Canyon (Calif.). Terra Evans, Luca Demio and Stella Wineman each pumped in three goals with Demio adding seven draw controls, and Ella Plaskonos and Delaney Walsh contributed two goals apiece. 8. Newbury Park (Calif.), 13-1

The Panthers opened the CIF Southern Section Division I tournament with a 22-10 win over Beckman (Calif.) and now advance to play San Clemente in the quarterfinals Wednesday. Eight players scored against Beckman, led by Cassie Huber’s five goals and one assist, Emma Ing’s five goals and Lindsay O’Toole’s four goals. Micah Shin added a hat trick, and Ing led in draw controls with seven and also had a caused turnover. Previous: 8

9. Torrey Pines (Calif.), 13-3

The Falcons are hoping the third time is the charm against La Jolla after advancing to the CIF San Diego Open Division semifinals with a 12-5 win over Patrick Henry (Calif.) on Wednesday. The Miners capped an undefeated season with the UHSAA/Mountain America title, beating Waterford (Utah) 17-11 in the final on Friday. Kendall Keblish led Park City with seven goals and one assist, while Samantha Riely added five goals and one assist and Lilly Hunt contributed a hat trick.
