The 2021 season opener between James Madison and host North Carolina scheduled for Feb. 13 has been postponed due to a previous positive COVID-19 test within the JMU program, alongside differing isolation periods mandated by the Chapel Hill area.

A decision on rescheduling the game will be made at a later date. JMU lacrosse currently has no active cases and has resumed normal operations, according to a release.

North Carolina is the No. 1 team in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20, and James Madison is the No. 13 team.
