After a poor start to the 2022 season, Lehigh is quietly unbeaten in Patriot League play.

Cole Kirst chipped in four goals and Mike Sisselberger won 17 of 25 faceoffs to lead the Mountain Hawks to the 11-10 victory over Army at Mitchie Stadium.

Kirst scored twice in the first 10 minutes, helping Lehigh jump out to a 4-0 lead before Army could win a faceoff. The Black Knights answered with four straight goals to tie the game, including two from Paul Johnson.

Up 6-5, Kirst initiated a three-goal run to give Lehigh a four-goal lead that felt even bigger. Army cut the deficit to a goal with 10:04 remaining in the fourth quarter, but a Matt Marker goal with 5:40 became the eventual game-winner. The Black Knight scored with 57 seconds left, but Sisselberger won the ensuing faceoff to clinch the victory.

NOTRE DAME PULLS AWAY

The Kavanagh brothers are the present and future of the Notre Dame offense, and they showed why on Saturday.

Pat and Chris Kavanagh connected on two goals, and combined for eight points, to lead the Fighting Irish to the 12-7 victory over Michigan in South Bend. The win snapped a three-game skid involving three ranked opponents (Georgetown, Maryland, Ohio State).

Michigan held an early 2-1 lead before Notre Dame scored six straight goals to take command of the game. Kavanagh had three assists in the run and Wheaton Jackoboice scored twice. The Wolverines got as close as three goals at 7-4, but the Irish responded with a five-goal rally to put the game away in the fourth quarter.

The battle of the day came in the cages, where Liam Entenmann made 19 saves and Michigan goalie Shane Carr had 17 saves.

‘CUSE BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN

Tucker Dordevic came to Long Island ready to play on a day when Syracuse needed him to step up.

Dordevic, the redshirt junior and leader of the Orange offense, dropped six goals and three assists to lead Syracuse to the 14-9 victory over Stony Brook on Saturday afternoon. The Orange had lost four of five heading into this weekend, but scored a vital win to keep hopes of competing for an NCAA bid in play.

The Seawolves kept pace throughout the first half and into the third quarter, but an eight-goal Syracuse run allowed them to cruise to the win. Dordevic had five goals in 15 minutes during the second-half rally.
