The top teams in Division II proved their worth last week, with Le Moyne taking down then-No. 5 Adelphi and Merrimack topping Pace in NE-10 play. It seems there a few teams that can stop Le Moyne and Merrimack.

Lenoir-Rhyne picked up two South Atlantic Conference wins last week, helping clinch at least a share of the conference title for the third straight season. Seton Hill downed No. 9 Lake Erie in G-MAC play, and Saint Leo got a game-winning goal form Charlie Kurtenbach to get past Lynn in a Sunshine State battle.

Two upsets highlighted the week in Division II, with Saint Anselm picking up a commanding win over Pace and Belmont Abbey handed Limestone its first conference loss since 2009 — a result that has pushed the defending champions back to No. 15.

HOT

LIU Post (+3)

The Pioneers lost two early games to Pace and Merrimack, but have since rallied off five straight wins. LIU Post sits 3-0 in the ECC, with opponents like NYIT, Saint Anselm and Mercy to come. William Snelders leads Division II with 4.44 goals per game.

NYIT (+1)

Similarly to Florida Tech, the Bears have overcome a poor start to the season and rallied off a big win streak. After taking down Mercy last week, NYIT is at six straight games. Leroy Halftown leads the way with 35 goals so far this season.

NOT

Limestone (-3)

It had been nine years since Limestone lost a Sunshine State Conference game. The loss to Belmont Abbey just added to what has been a disappointing season for the Saints. Gone are the days of Kevin Reisman — Limestone ranks 16th in the country with a 59.5 faceoff win percentage.

Pace (-4)

The Setters have now lost three straight games — to Le Moyne by three goals, Saint Anselm by five goals and Merrimack by 10 goals. This team wasn’t expected top Le Moyne or Merrimack, but the margin for error was small for a game against Saint Anselm. Pace has scored just 41 goals in a five-game stretch that also includes a loss to Adelphi.

NEW

Saint Anselm

The Hawks upset Pace 12-7 on Wednesday and followed it up with a dominant with over Bentley. Saint Anselm has won five of seven games, with losses to No. 1 Le Moyne and No. 3 Merrimack sandwiched in between. It sits in a tie for fourth in the NE-10 with a 5-3 record.

OUT

Rockhurst

With a chance to upset its RMAC rival Colorado Mesa at home, Rockhurst fell at the buzzer on a Colin Ketcham buzzer-beater. The Hawks went 0-for-2 in chances to top Mesa, but still own wins over Mercyhurst and Lindenwood, so they sit right on the edge of getting back into the rankings soon.
