Indiana Tech came out strong in the second quarter as Langille put a well-placed shot into the upper corner of the cage just over five minutes into the period. Sess won the faceoff and led a transition that resulted in Thind’s second goal, as the Eagles extended their lead to 5-3 with 9:23 left. Indiana Tech netted consecutive goals, including a man-up goal to even the score at 5-5 with 1:13 remaining in the second quarter. The Eagles responded, as Cochran found Bousquet for the go-ahead goal with 43 seconds left in the half to give Reinhardt a 6-5 edge.
Reinhardt’s Tanner Whittemore forced a turnover five minutes into the third period, and on the ensuing possession, Kollin Etheridge found Bousquet for a transition goal, making it 7-5. Thind completed the hat trick at the 5:30 mark in the third quarter, making it 8-5 in favor of the Eagles heading into the fourth quarter.
The two teams continued to battle in the fourth quarter before Hanak found Bousquet for a goal, giving Reinhardt a 9-5 edge with 9:46 remaining. The Eagles added two more goals in the period, and Liam Wright made five stops in the second half for the 11-5 final.
