The top three in the this week’s Nike / US Lacrosse Division II Women’s Top 20 — Lindenwood, Indianapolis and Le Moyne — remain unchanged, but there was some shuffling throughout the rest of ranking as most teams have now launched their campaigns. Only two ranked teams, No. 5 Adelphi and No. 7 Rollins, have yet to play.
Adelphi was scheduled to begin play last week but postponed its first three games due to what the school termed as “COVID-19 exposure.” The Panthers are now hoping to begin the season on Sunday with a trip to No. 3 Le Moyne.
Regis has recorded four straight wins since its season-opening loss to No. 1 Lindenwood and has now climbed back to the edge of the top ten. No. 16 Mercyhurst also jumped four spots this week on the strength of its 4-0 start.
There are several big matchups highlighting this week’s slate in addition to the Le Moyne-Adelphi clash. On Tuesday in the PSAC, 2019 national runner-up West Chester, ranked fourth, visits No. 6 East Stroudsburg, while Mercyhurst hosts No. 20 Seton Hill. On Wednesday in the SSC, No. 7 Rollins visits No. 10 Tampa, and in the NE10, No. 14 Assumption visits No. 15 St. Anselm.

Mercyhurt (+4)
One week after moving into the Top 20, the Lakers jump four more spots after running their record to 4-0. Senior Julia Rescott was the hero in the team’s latest win, as she tallied seven goals on just eight shots to lead Mercyhurst to a 16-12 win over Slippery Rock. The Hurst faces its toughest test to date when PSAC foe Seton Hill visits on Tuesday.
Regis (+2)
The Rangers opened their season three weeks ago with a three-goal loss at No. 1 Lindenwood. Since that time, Regis has tallied four decisive victories and is now knocking on the door to re-enter the top 10. The latest win came against Rockhurst, with Andrea Macaladad and Kyleigh Peoples combining for seven goals in the 16-7 victory.

Mercy (-4)
Perhaps there’s a shift of power coming in the ECC this year. Although it was played as a non-league game, Roberts Wesleyan handed perennial champ Mercy an 11-10 overtime loss at home, dropping the Mavericks four spots this week. It was the first win for Roberts Wesleyan against Mercy since 2014.

Roberts Wesleyan (No. 17)
The Redhawks stand 5-0 on the year following back-to-back wins at Mercy and St. Thomas Aquinas last weekend. RWC is averaging over 18 goals per game in 2021, led by Madison Bell (18 goals) and Emily Tomei (17). Senior Lindsey Brinkel leads the team with 35 points, including 22 assists. The Redhawks are now idle for 10 days before returning to action with a non-league game against Tiffin on March 31.
Seton Hill (No. 20)
The Griffins are off to a 3-0 start following last Saturday’s 16-6 win over Slippery Rock. Sophomore Kristi Kada led the way offensively with six goals, while goalie Kamille Ward registered 13 saves. Seton Hill visits Mercyhurst Tuesday, looking to snap its three-game losing streak against the Lakers.

Florida Tech (was No. 17)
The Panthers first game in 375 days didn’t turn out very well, as they fell into an early hole against No. 12 Florida Southern and never recovered, losing 17-3. FIT was outshot 41-16. Florida Tech will look to bounce back when it visits Lynn on Wednesday.
Bentley (was No. 19)
Bentley slips out of the Top 20 after having both of its first two games postponed last week. The Falcons will try once again to launch their 2021 campaign on Wednesday with a visit to No. 19 New Haven.
