For the first time in program history, Queens has claimed the top spot in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division II Women's Top 20. The Royals, ranked second last week, make the jump to No. 1 after posting two more wins, including a come-from-behind 15-14 road victory at No. 12 Florida Southern.

Following its loss at home against No. 17 Grand Valley State, last week’s top-ranked team Lindenwood, falls to No. 5 this week. The Lions have another big showdown with No. 9 East Stroudsburg on Tuesday, a neutral site game at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

US Lacrosse is also home to another top ten match-up this week, with No. 2 Le Moyne facing No. 4 Indianapolis on Thursday. Other key games this week include No. 6 Adelphi at No. 9 East Stroudsburg, No. 8 Tampa vs. No. 11 Limestone, and No. 17 St. Anselm at No. 20 New Haven.

HOT

Grand Valley State (+7)

GVSU enjoyed a 3-0 week that included a road win at No. 1 Lindenwood. The Lakers scored the final three goals of the game over the final six minutes to hand LU its first loss of the year. Senior Abbi O’Neal tallied seven goals on eight shots to lead GVSU, which hosts Tiffin in its home opener on Friday.

Indianapolis (+3)

UIndy posted a pair of easy wins to remain undefeated. The Greyhounds reached the 20-goal mark for the fourth time in seven games with their 22-3 victory over CSU-Pueblo. This week brings the two toughest tests of the season to date, with back-to-back games against No. 2 Le Moyne and No. 3 West Chester.

NOT

Regis (-10)

Last week’s three-game Florida swing started with promise, a 14-12 win over No. 14 Concordia, but ultimately failed to yield the results the Rangers were hoping for. The win over Concordia was followed by a 14-13 loss at Florida Tech, and then the Rangers capped the trip with a lopsided 17-5 loss to No. 12 Florida Southern. The conference season begins Friday with a home matchup against Rockhurst.

Lindenwood (-4)

The Lions visit Walsh on Thursday to conclude the first half of their schedule before embarking on a two-week hiatus. Lindenwood does not play again until its March 26 matchup against former conference rival Regis.

IN

Florida Tech (No. 18)

The Panthers are one overtime goal away from an unblemished record. As it is, a 6-1 start that includes a win over No. 5 Regis has merited a spot in the Top 20. Florida Tech is currently in the midst of a nine-game homestand that continues Wednesday against No. 13 Mercy.

OUT

Mercyhurst (previously No. 18)

The Lakers rebounded from last week’s lopsided loss at Le Moyne by winning comfortably at Tiffin on Saturday. Lacey Netti had seven assists and Julia Rescott tallied six goals. Mercyhurst now begins a stretch of seven straight PSAC games.
